In this Affiliate Marketing Mastery review we'll run through the course, what it offers, what we liked and didn't like, and if it's something I recommend.
Does it really work? Or is it a waste of money? We'll talk about all that in this Affiliate Marketing Mastery review:
Affiliate Marketing Mastery Review Summary:
Rating: 4/5
Pros: Excellent training lessons, lifetime access, and a 30-day refund window.
The Cons: Very expensive.
The Bottom Line:
Overall, Affiliate Marketing Mastery is a good course, and it's great for beginners. On the other hand, it's very expensive, and there are a few other issues too.
When it comes down to it, even though the course is good, it's not something I recommend, for reasons we'll discuss later in this Affiliate Marketing Mastery review.
If you're looking for a good alternative, I recommend Wealthy Affiliate: Comes with 10 Free Lessons to get started and has all the tools, training and support you need in one place. Plus no UP-SELLS.

What is Affiliate Marketing Mastery?
Affiliate Marketing Mastery (AMM) is one of several products from Stefan James, hosted on his platform called Project Life Mastery.

The purpose of the course is to show people how to start making money through affiliate marketing online. It's an online education center with over 20 hours of video lessons and content, split into 70 videos and over 20 modules.
To give you an idea, the course focuses on blogging as a source of income, similar to what Wealthy Affiliate teaches. AMM walks you through all the basics, such as: finding a profitable niche, creating a website, installing the right plugins, keyword research, writing epic content, and a lot more.
As you can probably tell, the course is targeted at complete beginners, so the material is straightforward and easy to follow. I'll admit, the training is really good, and I have no issues with the training at all.
But before we dive into the details, let's talk about the product's background.
Other products:
- K Money Mastery
- Online Business Mastery Accelerator
- Life Mastery Accelerator
- Morning Ritual Mastery
- Affiliate Marketing Mastery
- K Optimizer
- How to Write a Book in Less than 24 Hours
- And several others.
As you can see, Stefan James has been quite busy!
And that leads us to the next question...
Who is Stefan James?
Most of the time, the people behind these kind of products claim to be super-successful, but when you search for them on Google, no results can be found.

The good news is Stefan James does not try to hide his identity at all, which was a breath of fresh air. He's got a personal website, a Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Podcasts, and even a YouTube channel where he publishes videos from time to time.
What you do need to know is he's in the self-development niche, so some of his content might feel a little cheesy.
For example, this advertisement for Project Life Mastery:
Besides that, he also does a lot of talk-shows and seminars, and some people compare him to Tony Robins. He's even been interviewed by Entrepreneur.com.
So, he's a real person. Nothing to hide.
It's always great when the creator of a product actually has evidence to back up what his products teach.
On another note, he directly addressed the claims of him being a scammer in this blog post which I thought was cool. He also makes it clear his courses are not for the "Get Rich Quick" crowd.
You might also remember him from his Kindle Money Mastery course, a guide on how to make money with short Kindle books.
But that doesn't mean his courses are perfect. There are a few things you need to know before you register.
Getting Started with AMM:
Keep in mind, Affiliate Marketing Mastery is one of those exclusive courses that only lets in new users from time to time.
Originally I though this was one of the fake exclusive warnings to create a sense of urgency, but it really looks like they only let in people from time to time.
To get started with Affiliate Marketing Mastery, enter your email address and watch the free Masterclass. This class is a 45 - 60 minutes training call, which I don't think is live, but it still has some value.
You'll need to enter quite a bit information to register your spot, such as name, email, country, and phone number. At the end of the free class, he'll pitch his full course to you; the true Affiliate Marketing Mastery course.
How Much Does Affiliate Marketing Mastery Cost?
I know what you're thinking:
If you're anything like me, you barely read sales pages anymore, and skip directly the the price to see if you can afford it. Unfortunately, Affiliate Marketing Mastery is on the pricey side, but there are a couple billing options for you.
- One time payment: $1,997
- Three installments of $767
Personally, I feel like the price is a bit too much, especially for beginners. In my experience helping new marketers is that most of the people who are looking to make money online via affiliate marketing don't have much cash to invest, that's one of the major advantages of starting an online business using the affiliate marketing model - It doesn't cost much to get started.
How much should it cost? Read this post on how long does it take to make money online. It also breaks down how much it cost me to run this site and make full time income online with it.
So with Affiliate Marketing Mastery asking new students to drop almost two grand seems a bit much. Nevertheless, a lot of people say the course is well worth the price.
P.S. Wealthy Affiliate is only $49/month, and it includes hosting too!
Let's move on.
Using Kindle for Traffic:
It's clear Stefan is a fan of Kindle. Although I found most of the training material to be a little basic, at least for me, there were a couple of interesting ideas.
One of which is using Kindle books as a source of web-traffic.
Here's how it works:
After you build your website by following the initial training videos, the idea is to start writing and publishing short books to Kindle, to send traffic back to your sites.
Affiliate Marketing Mastery also places a lot of emphasis on creating a brand, not just websites. There's a module dedicated entirely to creating a brand through social media and other methods.
After going through this module, the fact that Stefan is almost on every social media platform makes sense. He's on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, Periscope, and Pinterest.
I wouldn't recommend making so many business profiles, at least not at first, but it's an interesting idea to play with. Those are just a few things from the course that stood out to me.
Affiliate Marketing Mastery Pros:
Here's what I thought was awesome:
1. Huge Library of Videos & Great Training Material:
It will probably take more than a week to go through all the content. I was quite impressed with the size of this course's video library (over 70 videos!)
There are so many training videos! You can tell Stefan put a lot of effort into this course, which is always nice to see. When you're done the first 7 modules, you'll find some more bonuses.
The production quality of the videos was great as well. Overall, I recommend the training videos, they're really well done and educational.
2. Honest Creator
I mentioned this earlier, but it's always nice to know the creator of your course is a real person, and has a real online presence.

You can even get to know Stefan a bit by following his Instagram and other social media pages. Nice to know!
3. 30-Day Money Back Window:
According to their refund policy, refunds can be granted within 30 days. But if you decide to request a refund after this period, they'll be unable to process it.
You should know they use mainly use PayPal to process payments, and PayPal is quite buyer-friendly. They'll offer a refund if you request it.
Overall, no risk.
4. Lifetime Access:
While most courses charge monthly or annually, this one grants you lifetime access. In other words, as long as you pay and don't refund, you'll have access to all the material, forever. No expiry date. I thought that was cool.
5. Great Support:
Not only can you find a public FAQ section for all Project Life Mastery products, but you can also submit a ticket, even if you're not a member.
The support replies relatively fast as well, which was nice. So if you ever run into an issue, remember the support is there to help out.
6. Charities:
One of Stefan James labels is a philanthropist, and he lives up to that by doniating to various charities around the world.
At the moment, he's partnered with TECHO, World Housing and WE, working together to build homes for impoverished villages and cities around the world. Here's a link to one of his fundraisers.
So that's nice too!
8. Private Facebook Group:
When I ask people what they like most about this product, they usually say the private Facebook group has the most value.
In the group you can interact with other members, ask questions, and leisurely read through the various discussions. There's a lot of value in here that's hard to find anywhere else.
After reading this Affiliate Marketing Mastery review, you probably think I recommend the program. Continue reading to see what I really recommend.
Affiliate Marketing Mastery Cons:
Having said that, there are some downsides:
1. It's a Bit Expensive:
As you we mentioned earlier, the course is quite expensive, out of most people's budgets. I read some stories about people taking out loans to buy this course, and that's not something I recommend.
Granted, there is a lot of value inside, and it's lifetime access, but I don't think you need to spend so much. Personally, this was the main downside for me. If the price was a little cheaper, it would be in my top recommended products for sure.
2. No Tools or Hosting Provided:
What you need to know is Affiliate Marketing Mastery only includes the training material, there are no tools or other services included. For a high-end course, you would expect at least some extra features.
For comparison, Wealthy Affiliate costs $49/month and it includes free hosting for up to 25 affiliate websites plus free SSL Certifications too, in addition to the training courses.
You can read this review to check out Wealthy Affiliate's Hosting Benefits. This alone can save your online business $100's of dollars per month. Another alternative would be Siteground.
Affiliate marketing success stories!
~ real people, real work
4 - 5 figures/month online!
3. Overwhelming Training Material:
Although the training lessons are well structured, there are a lot of lessons to go through. Most people don't have the time to go through all of it. It's a bit similar to Savage Affiliates in that regard.
I feel the training material is overwhelming for some because there are so many lessons to consume. It might feel intimidating at first.
4. Nothing That's Unique:
When it comes down to it, I felt there are no unique strategies or ideas in the training material. The course covers the basics of affiliate marketing and recommends some interesting strategies, such as using Kindle for traffic, but nothing really special.
Most of the strategies work, don't get me wrong - but they're kind of basic, and take a while to see results.
For example, he recommends the classic white-hat techniques such as; targeting keywords, writing articles, using social media for traffic, and what not.
So it works, although it takes a while for the systems to start delivering results.
The Bottom Line:
Long story short, Affiliate Marketing Mastery is not a bad course, it has a lot of value, and many people have benefited from the lessons inside.
In my opinion, I would have liked if the course included more features and tools, I expected a little more for the price.
For example, with Wealthy Affiliate (WA) you get the free SSL Certification in your hosting. That helps with ranking by increasing site trust and user experience. You also get involved into their commenting platform to give and receive comments. That adds content about the topic to your post to help you rank faster. Plus you can get feedback on your site not mention a free keyword research tool.
It would also have been nice to have some more interesting marketing strategies, instead of the same ones we're familiar with.
The bottom line is it's a good course, but not my recommended choice.
A Much Better Alternative:
If you're looking for a cheap Affiliate Marketing Mastery alternative, Wealthy Affiliate is definitely worth looking into. It's been my number one recommended course since I started this website, and I don't think I will stop recommending them any time soon.
The best part is you can join for free with a Starter account, and if you sign-up through one of my links, you'll receive 10 free training lessons as well plus personal guidance from me. Hi Todd! I came across a video some months ago were Stefan himself was explaining what Affiliate Marketing Mastery is. I found it interesting but didn’t continue researching about it. Recently the topic was brought up at dinner and I remembered the video I had bookmarked, so I started to research. I’m glad I found your post and your honest review. I’m glad to hear it’s a good program. And I’m also glad to hear about this more budget friendly alternative. Thanks!
You bet Henry, glad my Affiliate Marketing Master review could be of service. Thanks for the kind feedback and best of luck with your online journey.
Cheers
Hi, Todd. I enjoyed reading your review and to be honest, this does sound like a good training program all be it out of my price range.
I watched the video and went and watched a couple of others he has created and he does seem genuinely committed to helping others succeed.
I think the one take away for me in the video was his commitment to being “all in” and doing whatever it takes to achieve his dreams. That is the bottom line to success.
As good as his course might be, as good as what is offered at Wealthy Affiliate, no matter what the price is… if one is not all in and willing to do the work necessary, It just won’t happen.
To your ongoing success,
Wayne
Hey Wayne, thanks for you’re kind feedback on my review and you are absolutely correct. You got to be into it or at least have a game plan and a schedule that you can stick to to dedicate time to your online business regardless if you do affiliate marketing or e-commerce or whatever it may be.
Thanks again and best of luck to you with your online endeavors.
Back when I was reviewing Project Life Mastery, the Affiliate Marketing Mastery course was ‘closed until further notice’. Looks like it has reopened and boy, the fee is really expensive! I would expect a more professional private forum (than using Facebook) for that price.
Yes, he’s quite an advocate for Kindle traffic but I am not sure if you noticed. He only has one book (on personal development) so far and there are only 14 customer reviews. Not the most impressive number when compared to other authors within the same coaching niche.
Nice Cathy, thanks for your feedback on my Affiliate Marketing Mastery review as well as the extra data on the owner’s stats on Kindle. That doesn’t speak well to inquisitive students with one book as the main traffic source if you only have one Kindle book out there.
I on the other hand prefer targeting warm traffic that’s Googling topics and finding my content in the top spots of search engines. That way I find that you make a more meaningful connection with the user and if that happens you can typically make a ton of online sales. at least that’s been my experience working online.
Thanks for your feedback again and great to hear from you Cathy.
HI Todd,
I found your post to be very informative, and now I few more affiliation programs to add that I missed when i was researching.
I am so glad i found wealthy affiliate, as its transparent and has an awesome helpful community that shows you the way when you get a bit lost, along with the founders that heave put together a great lesson structure to guide you along the way
keep up the great work
Jan
Thanks Jan for your feedback on Affiliate Marketing Mastery as well as Wealthy Affiliate. Both are really solid programs but I like Wealthy Affiliate because I think it’s a much more extensive resource and offers tried-and-true methods to online success. Plus it’s really reasonably priced. All the tools, resources and support you need to have success online in one place, without the UPSELLS.
As a matter of fact, check out this list of 10 affiliate marketing success stories from real people. These are people that got started and within a matter of 6 months to 1 year we’re making a 4 – 5 figure month;ly income. One student I know has created a million dollar online businesses based on the training they started out with from Aealthy Affiliate.
Best of luck to you,
Todd
Hey Todd, your article was an awesome read. I always love reading about all of these self-made gurus who are supposedly rich and well of. But its good that you found an affiliate marketing genius that actually exist. Everyone in the affiliate marketing chain isn’t as genuine as they seem or appear but at least your guy is a real person. Overall, the course being advertised is sort of awesome but it is pricey which is why I left Clickfunnels because they’re pricey but your review was awesome. Good job!
Thanks RJ, much appreciate your feedback on Affiliate Marketing Mastery. I think it’s a solid program but not make my top recommendation list.
I think there’s a lot of value in the system but for the most people who don’t have the money to risk, Wealthy Affiliate is a much better option. If you want to go the eCommerce route, check out Amazing Selling Machine. I know Stefan James highly recommends them as well.
Cheers
Your review post about Affiliate Marketing Mastery was very well done. I liked the breakdown of the pros and cons of this program and you break it down piece by piece of why this program is the way it is. I do like how you also delved into the background of the founder of this program. Many times, these self made types done through affiliate marketing are creating “self made” stories to further sell their product so it was a breath of fresh air to see this one is a real person. It is crazy the amount of money he is charging for his services when you have programs like Wealthy Affiliate that are much more reasonable. Great post!
Absolutely, it’s tough to recommend affiliate marketing and online business training once you’ve gone through WA’s program. Especially if you watch the weekly webinars and stick to the training. Oh, ask questions when you need help.
For $49/month, not knowing if affiliate marketing or online business is right for you, I’d encourage you to go with Wealthy Affiliate vs. forking over a hefty investment into Affiliate Marketing Mastery.
My only first two investments were my education and my website. Luckily WA has all the tools one needs to create a thriving online business (i.e. keyword research tool, free hosting, SSL certification, feedback and a commenting platform). So definitely a really good value.
Cheers,
Todd
Hi Todd. Thank you for your honest approach to your review on Affiliate Marketing Mastery . It sounds like a fantastic course to take, and it’s great to see that Stefan James is above board with everything he offers within the course. The only thing I’d like to know is, does he have any upgrades after you join. A few years back I joined an online marketing business that started at a few hundred and gradually went up to many thousands after the upgrades, and without them you couldn’t go any further. I’d also expect some hosting to be provided for the money I’m paying. Even though I’m very interested in Stefans course, I simply couldn’t afford it. Your discussion on Wealthy Affiliate sounds interesting and far more affordable to me. Thanks Jim
Go with WA Jim and you’ll do great. I don’t know of any UPSELLS associated with Affiliate Marketing Mastery but I could see him recommending you to other training courses within the online business industry that are also costly.
Thanks for your feedback!
How refreshing, to read a review about a company and owner that are actually worthwhile! Granted, the training is expensive…in fact, too rich for my blood…but it looks like it certainly gives you a good foundation in the affiliate marketing business.
I, too, am in Wealthy Affiliate, and am so glad I found the opportunity. Not only is it affordable, but it offers more training than I will ever have time to complete. That training is there, though, if I have questions.
It strikes me that this legitimate company compares better to Wealthy Affiliate than others I have looked at, but we get just as good a training background for so much less. That tells me that our opportunity is actually underpriced for what we are offered (sshh — don’t let Kyle and Carson know.) and that we are lucky to have found it.
That’s great Fran. You know when you think about it, or even compare WA’s education to college internet marketing courses, you get such a better value. I’ve often thought WA could charge a lot more but I’m glad they don’t.
That way it give most everyone a fair chance for success, even for those that don’t have much money. I know in my 10 Affiliate Marketing Success Stories post there are a few stories of people from all over the world that were able to turn a $49/month investment in their education into a 4 to 5 figure monthly income from their online business that they built at WA.
Best of luck to you, just stick to the training and you’ll do great.
Todd
