Passion makes us tick. Our pulse quickens, our mind races, and we become alive inside when we are passionate about something.

It’s also the driving force to shape who we are and the life experiences we ultimately have.

Do you find yourself unmotivated to get out of bed in the morning?

If so, you’re not alone. We all go through feelings of disengagement from time to time. And we all loose passion for something that we once loved.

But we need to understand that passion is so critical to make happy and successful lives.

Passion is what dedicates us to our families, inspires us, makes us feel good inside, and strengthens us to go that extra mile for what we believe in.

Heck, passion can make us do some of the craziest things in the world. Walk across two skyscrapers (1,300 feet in the air), fly across the world to meet someone special, quite your job and pursue a new career.

These are acts of passion.

Passion changes and develops over time, so understanding this will better prepare you for when you find yourself passionless and in need of a new plan of attack in this little journey we call life.

Think of things that you have been passionate about in the past.

Do your past and present passions share a similar theme?

In other worlds, maybe you like learning or mastering a new task. Maybe it’s helping other people. Or maybe you like building things.

But try to identify what you’ve been passionate about in the past to get a better understanding as to who you are.

Now take a moment and think of what brings a smile to your face these days.

Do you light up when you see new pictures, places, or activities when your surfing the web or watching TV?

Maybe your soul is shouting out for a change in your life. You could be bored with the same old daily tasks and need to shake things up.

Take a Risk to Find Your Passion:

Many times we find that we’re comfortable in our daily routines, but we are not impassioned with our lives.

This is natural, but over time if you are NOT listening to your heart or allowing your passions to guide you, you can end up resenting the life you’ve built. And with time, that resentment can manifest itself into negative behaviors or actions.

“Follow your heart, if you do so, you can’t go wrong”

That is what a wise man once said to me when I was confronted with a passionless life.

I followed his advise and never looked back. And my life was forever changed in a profoundly positive way.

The point of my story is that we have to take a risk when we’re looking to discover our next passion.

Remember, you can’t go wrong when you following your heart in life.

Putting more passion in your life is a cumulative process. You need to start by identifying what you are passionate about and then see how you can incorporate this passion into your life on a daily basis.

Try to take an hour or two every day to investigate your passions and explore whatever it may be that is calling you.

Once you have identified your passion, go with it.
