In our Internet Income University review we’ll reveal our take of this internet marketing training program and see if it’s right for you.
Internet Income University is a course that promises to turn the average person into a successful internet business owner.
What is Internet Income University/Skill Pay?
It’s training focuses on teaching people how to become successful affiliate marketers as well as other ways to make money from your website (and how to set up a website too).
Some people say it’s a scam, others say it’s the promised-land of internet marketing training courses, who should you believe?
In this Internet Income University review, I’ll do my best to search for the truth and present it to you so you can make an unbiased decision.
Then again, remember that this review is based on my opinion and I’m not affiliated with this product at all, so I have no reason to praise it.

Internet Income University Review:
Before we dive into the details, it’s important to keep in mind that Internet Income University recently upgraded and changed it’s name to Skill Pay but the concept remains the same, training for online business.
Skill Pay is not, as you might expect, about how to find and learn skills that you can offer as services, but instead it’s all about how to create a niche specific website, collect leads, and sell affiliate products.
Personally, this is one of my favorite ways to make a profitable long term online business. One that can potentially create passive income!
What’s Up with the Name Change?
It is clear that the company didn’t only choose to change their name, Skill Pay is a complete upgrade, and I can honestly say (from what I saw) that some of their training is pretty useful.
It doesn’t live up to my #Recommended affiliate marketing training program due to the lack of…
- Keyword research training.
- SEO (search engine optimization) skill development.
- And stellar community support.
But it’s got some positive features that we’ll review below.
Most people say that Internet Income University is a scam but Skill Pay (the upgraded and more in-depth version) is not a scam.
Does that mean it’s worth the price?
Skill Pay: What You’ll Learn…
We all know that there are so many different paths to make cash online and it can be really confusing for beginners to pick one, not to mention the fact that there are a lot of conflicting opinions out there.
Yes, making money online is not as simple as it seems (at first), and the confusion can, and does, stall progress.
Yet, when you find a plan that works, one that suits you and your passions and desires, then everything seems to fall in place, and it becomes really simple, because you know what to do to make progress.
So, Skill Pay is a little different from most online business training products.
It won’t teach you all about search engine optimization, keyword research, and other essential methods needed to create a successful niche affiliate website.
But it will show you how to use social media to create a thriving community around your business.
Skill Pay’s Social Media Training:
I thought how Skill Pay’s training recommends creating a community first, on Facebook, and Twitter, before you launch a website or product was intriguing.
The idea is if you create a community first, then you already have an active audience that’s waiting for content, as opposed to creating a website, writing articles, and slowly building an audience.
Skill Pay’s training teaches you how to create a community around your website which I think is an under appreciated skill.
Of course, before you create a community and a website you’ll be told how to find a niche, one that aligns with your personal interests and has income potential.
I particularly enjoyed their videos on how to find a niche and I like how you’re told to take your time and really think about a niche before you pick one. This is something we preach about here on Learn To Grow Wealth Online all day long. Good advice Skill Pay – Nice Job!
There are also some awesome tips on how to identify a passion and stick to it.
Skill Pay Pros:
There are a few things that I found refreshing about this product.
For starters, the training material is really in-depth and on-point. You’ll see exactly how to complete certain tasks from an over-the-shoulder view of the screen. It’s really easy to follow and you really don’t need to have any previous knowledge of internet marketing to make this work for you.
Secondly, I loved how the Skill Pay makes everything as transparent as possible. For instance, if you want to know what type of videos to expect, they offer a video library, the videos will be locked but you can see the titles and descriptions.
I really like how you can see exactly what’s waiting for you behind the doors. So many internet marketing training programs lack this aspect.
Third, training that focuses on building a presence on social media. We all know that we should promote our websites and businesses on social media but most people don’t really know how to do that.
Internet Income University/Skill Pay will show you how to build a Facebook Page and Twitter account, not to mention how to drive traffic with Facebook ads and other sources.
Skill Pay Cons:
I admit that I do like most features this company offers and I think the training material is valuable for anyone who is getting started in online business. On the other hand, there are a couple of areas that I believe could use some improvement.
For instance, I noticed that there’s no material about email marketing and building a list. I think building a list is quite important for website owners, in fact, it’s one of the first things that you should do when you create a website.
But in Internet Income University/Skill Pay’s defense, creating a community on Facebook or Google Plus is kind of like building a list.
Lastly, Internet Income University/Skill Pay seem to only allow a few members a month, their doors are currently closed to new members!
Now What?
Skill Pay has created a really good internet marketing product and I’d love to test out a few of their methods, but it’s currently closed and doesn’t seem to be as all inclusive of a support system like the folks at Wealthy Affiliate provide.
They’ve created a refreshing environment that focuses on your success.
I think Skill Pay and Wealthy Affiliate would be valuable to any internet marketer, regardless of skill level.
Like Skill Pay, Wealthy Affiliate takes you lesson by lesson to help you build an online business. One that’s based on a niche that you love.
They teach you sound ways to break into the online market and help people based on passions, skills, and/or interests.
Plus, it’s free to check out and the monthly rate is $18 dollars less than Internet Income University/Skill Pay. And the yearly rate makes it $38 dollars less per month.
Conclusion on Skill Pay:
To conclude, Skill Pay (formerly Internet Income University) is not a scam. It is indeed one of the better products that I have had the pleasure of reviewing on this website.
Skill Pay’s doors are closed at the moment. Instead of waiting for them to open, get started building you business correctly from the proven methods taught by Wealthy Affiliate?
They’ve been teaching people how to create online success for over a decade now. And they don’t have their doors closed to new members.
Here’s my Wealthy Affiliate Review (there’s a free trial as well).
I would love to see you in the community!
Hi Todd,
I wanted to have a look at Skill Pay about 6 months ago and it was closed then as well. I wonder why they limit their numbers?
Some of the training seems to be quite good, but could be lacking some vital elements for someone just starting an online business. I am particularly thinking of SEO and keyword research.
On the other hand, their social media training would certainly be useful and the approach of building a community before launching your site is certainly different.
All in all Skill Pay seems to be an interesting program albeit a little expensive. I have read some bad reviews of Internet Income University, I’m glad this is better.
Good advice not to wait for the doors to open again, better to try the program now. The training at WA is complete, you have all the tools you need to get started and it’s cheaper!
Thanks for your honest review Todd.
Peter
Hey Peter,
Thanks for your feedback on our Skill Pay review. I read something about them closing their doors due to the owner’s/developers having success in some other business venture.
I too would love to check out the social media training. But agreed, one thing that I was thinking was where’s the SEO training, keyword research, and learning to create content that’s based on helping your chosen niche.
This seems to be an invaluable aspect of Wealthy Affiliate’s training. Each piece of their training focuses on connecting with your niche audience and striving to help people within you niche in order to be successful.
Wealthy Affiliate’s pay per click training is obviously about creating higher sales conversions with advertisements, but even the posts and add campaigns that they help you create are about creating a relevant ad that resonates with your niche audience and the end result is of recommending a product that is beneficial. Thus resulting in higher converting sales for the website owner/affiliate marketer.
If I was at all considering starting an online business, I think Wealthy Affiliate is a must simply for the cloud hosting of 50 websites, the weekly Webinars and to hit one of the two bootcamp style training courses just to give yourself the structure and education for success.
Hopefully Skill Pay will stick around and will allow more students. Then you could even consider intertwining the two training programs.
Thanks again Peter for your take,
Todd
What an interesting concept — first concentrate on social media and build a following and then write articles for your existing audience.
However, my thoughts would be; “why would anyone follow someone who has nothing to offer?” I mean, I wouldn’t follow some guy with no website who tries to sell me products on social media. Besides, posting affiliate links on social media without an affiliate disclosure isn’t legal.
That was my first thought Ben, but you’d have to build some content in the form of sales funnels. So your social followers would have that. But I agree, it seems to me to be more effective to represent whatever niche you’re in with publishing blog content first. At least 10 posts so that people could understand what you represent for whatever niche you’re involved in.
Thanks for your feedback on our Internet Income University/Skill Pay review.
Todd
Hello there
First, thank you for a great review of Skill Pay.
It actually looks like a good program, and i think it beats WA btw. WA is great for beginners who need to learn how to set up a website, but when it comes to money, that’s why I am in this business, Skill Pay looks promising.
Some people say money is in the list, and if that’s the only way you sell product, ofc it is. But people are on the social media sites:) That’s where you have to be too.. I would love to try this out, but I’m to busy with another project atm. Learn one before starting another 🙂
Keep up the good work:)
Thanks Jorunn on your feedback of Skill Pay. I don’t think I’d say that they’re better than WA. Unless you’ve gone through all the training, webinars, etc., I wouldn’t go that far.
But I too find Skill Pay’s approach intriguing, but not sure it has the same value nor if focusing on social engagement is the best approach before creating content for your niche site.
Did you know that at Wealthy Affiliate, they teach you how to rank on YouTube? They also incorporate marketing your brand on social sites right away. That was probably one of my least favorite tasks when starting and I’ve built up my social site followers to about 15,000 or so (Certainly not the most).
It would be fun to see Skill Pay’s approach because I’ve heard of people getting 10K followers on Facebook in a very short time using Skill Pay/Internet Income University.
But unfortunately, it’s closed to new members at this time.
One other thing Jorunn, you might be skipping lessons at WA because you may have more experience than new members have.
I went through every lesson and did the best I could and it took me 9 months to go through the entire Bootcamp Training Program. I still have hundreds of Webinars to go through as well.
But I can now rank content very fast on Google and YouTube as well as create PPC campaigns that convert.
My point is that you may be surprised at how much education WA provides for so many different marketing approaches.
Plus if you have multiple sites, you’d be silly not to have a membership with them for the cloud website hosting they offer for up to 50 sites. If you’re a true webmaster, you could charge for this service for sites that you manage.
Thanks,
Todd
Hi Todd
Thanks for the further explanation of what Wealthy Affiliate offers. I’m new to WA, and I admit, I have been jumping around in the training’s.
I’ll check out the Webinars you mentioned, I just was checking them out and they’ve got a ton of relevent webinars that I need to learn.
Jorunn
You bet Jorunn, thanks for the update as well. You’ll find that not only is there extensive internet marketing training’s at WA, they’re also always updating their platform to provide the most advanced training techniques.
Best,
Todd
Thanks for this review about Internet income university or Skill pay as it is now known.
I have to say that I have never heard of this program, so thanks for shedding some light on it for me.
It sounds like this is a fairly decent program that could help people out.
I do like that it has a free membership available, although at $67 per month, the paid membership is a little pricey.
I think that Wealthy Affiliate is a far better option for most people, a lot cheaper and in my opinion, greater value!
Nice review Todd 🙂
~John
Hi John,
I know you’ve worked with Wealthy Affiliate and personally know all the cool things they offer to budding online entrepreneurs. I personally would really like to try out Internet Income University/Skill Pay. I think Skill Pay has some great things to offer and a completely unique perspective, it’s just a shame they’ve closed down their doors to know students.
I’ve done quit a bit of Facebook advertising with various products and have had some good and bad results, so I’d like to see how effective it is. I know another Wealthy Affiliate (super affiliate) that uses the program and loves it, so hopefully Skill Pay will re-open their doors soon.
Even with the price of $67 dollars, being a member to both training programs (Wealthy Affiliate/Skill Pay) could really give one’s online business some added leverage.
I’ve also taken several Webinars at Wealthy Affiliate about building brand-able social profiles to develop your online business presence in social networks like Facebook, Pinterest, G-Plus, etc., and I’d love to compare the programs a bit more.
I currently get 86% of my traffic through organic traffic from Google/Yahoo/Bing and about 8-10% through social networks, so I’d love to see if Skill Pay would pay off. But you can’t go wrong with Wealthy Affiliate’s incredible training. That’s why I’m a life long member, there’s always something new to learn there that positively effects my online businesses.
Just the other day I was looking to rank a local website quickly, watched a WA webinar and a week later, #1 ranking results.
Anyways, thanks for your feedback John, have a productive week.
Todd
Hey,
This is an interesting review of Skill Pay (the new Internet Income University).
But as an investigator of good online income programs, I think nothing beats Wealthy Affiliate with all of their training, SEO help, and so much more.
Simply unbeatable anywhere else. There are other good programs too and this seems like one of them, but I personally love WA.
Hi Ariel,
I hear ya, it’s hard to compare anything else to the ever so comprehensive giants at Wealthy Affiliate. They just have made such a good program that continues to evolve into something better.
They’re always striving to improve their training center. Just in the 2 years that I’ve been a member I have seen so many positive improvements and updates. And if you’re in online business, then having WA on your side is a great thing. Being updated in the online industry is a must have, even when you sites get successful and you get lazy 🙂
Thanks for your feedback on WA and Skill Pay/Income Internet University as well.
Cheers,
Todd
