Is Allclear ID a scam? If not, is this service worth using? If you’ve been asking these questions, then you should check out this review!
Let’s face it, being a victim of an identity theft isn’t fun.
So, it isn’t surprising that ID protection services have become quite popular these days.
These services are designed to help prevent your confidential personal information from being stolen.
They do this by offering monitoring services, alerts and notifications, insurance, and more.
Before we decide if Allclear ID is a scam, let’s get to know the product first.
What is Allclear ID?
Allclear ID is an identity theft protection and repair service.
But before you get into an identity theft protection service, keep this in mind…
There really isn’t a full proof method that will protect you from this type of theft.
However, regularly monitoring your personal details can help you catch a theft in progress.
Catching identity breaches early will minimize damage.
There’s also the fact that most ID theft protection services provide insurance.
Allclear ID Services:
Allclear ID however, is different from other theft protection services because you cannot buy their services directly.
In fact, the only way you can obtain their services is if a company or employer gives it to you for free.
You can’t buy it on your own. You have to be invited.
As you can see it has a different business model, and as such you will have to change your perspective on it.
Regardless, Allclear ID has two categories of services: Personal and Business.
The Personal category is for your family or yourself, it provides a wide range of ID protection and monitoring services.
- Identity Repair
- Monitoring Services
On the other hand, the Business section is for companies who want to beef up their online security.
Some of the Business services include:
- Customer Breach Response Strategy
- Test Response Readiness
- Guarantee Deployment of Security Infrastructure
- 24/7 Support for Active Breach Defense
We are going to talk about the services this product offers and how it holds up against other competing protection products.
Monitoring Personal Information with Allclear:
Allclear ID provides identity theft protection but it only monitors some of your personal information.
For example, the company only monitors your social security number… and that’s about it.
In comparison, reliable protection products like ID Shield monitor a lot more, such as: your name, address, phone number, credit cards, and more.
You can choose to use this product to monitor your child’s SSN also. However, you will have to pay $4.95 for this extra service.
Allclear ID’s Credit Monitoring:
I mentioned before that one of the primary functions of these ID theft protection products is their monitoring abilities.
However, you are not allowed to actually see your credit reports.
Furthermore, you are not given any tools that you can use to improve your credit history.
Once again, it’s clear to see that Allclear ID offers the bare minimum in terms of features.
Which is a let down.
Bank and Credit Card Information:
Allclear ID supposedly monitors the internet for your bank information and credit card number.
But there’s one problem…
While this is supposed to be a feature, there is no way to send your financial information to Allclear ID.
If they don’t have your financial information then they won’t be able to monitor the web for it.
It also seems that when people complain about this, the company is either late in responding or does not reply at all.
Good, reliable support is important, especially for an ID theft protection service.
ID Shield, for instance offers around the clock support for their customers, while Allclear ID support doesn’t seem reliable.
Allclear ID does offer services that helps you if you happen to lose your credit card.
But most banks already have anti-theft systems in place.
Allclear ID’s Insurance Protection:
The company offers a $1 million dollar insurance for identity theft.
In other words, if you become a victim while under their services, then you could possibly receive a maximum of $1 million dollars to repair damages.
It is important read the fine print of their insurance policy.
How does Allclear ID insurance hold out to other protection products? Well, most ID theft services also offer $1 million USD in insurance.
However, ID Shield is the only ID theft protection service that we reviewed that offers $ 5 million dollars in maximum insurance payout.
Allclear ID’s Security for Login:
Having a strong login security is important.
Allclear ID does shine in this aspect.
You are given a two step authentication method that is very secure.
First, you will need to enter your email and password to the Allclear ID website.
You will then receive an automated call where you will be told to enter a PIN number on your phone.
What’s the Verdict? Is Allclear ID a Scam?
The evidence shows that Allclear ID does not seem to be a scam.
So, while Allclear ID is a decent service if you have received it for free.
If you are planning to buy it, then you may want to look at other ID Theft Protection services.
