His main product, “Blogging With John Chow” is an educational product that is supposed to show people how he managed to create a highly successful blog in just under two years.
He claims his blog generates $40,000 a month, and if you follow his system, it won’t be long before you make that amount too.
Is it true? Let’s take a deeper look.

The problem with Blogging With John Chow is that the main product it promotes is a company called MOBE, a well know scam. MOBE is now outlawed in the USA. There’s also some bad blogging advise that you’ll want to avoid if you do join this program (see below).

So, what is it?
Well, the name is quite self-explanatory; the product teaches you how to create a successful blog that can make thousands of dollars of profit a month.
John Chow takes you by the hand and walks you through the steps that he took to create his highly successful websites.
In the members area, the training focuses on how to use the power of social media to build a fast following and then ultimately sell to your fans.
It costs $37.00 and you can definitely find some useful tips and tricks in the training material.
The focus is on how to build a following on social media and how to find affiliate offers to promote.
Take one look at John Chow’s blog and it’s easy to see how he makes all his profit, we’ll talk about his tactics in the next section so don’t go anywhere!
Generally speaking, the training material is not bad, some areas could use improvement, but there’s a lot of useful advice about how to set up a blog, generate traffic, and promote affiliate products.
There are some useless tools, though, like an article spinner, which we all know is worthless.
There are three up-sells, $47, $97, and $1 a month.
Other than the up-sells and useless “Bonus” tools, in my opinion, the training was not bad, and can definitely make it easier for someone to further their online business.
But there are a few sneaky marketing tactics that John Chow uses and you should know about…
So Is Blogging With John Chow a Scam? Have You Heard of MOBE?
John Chow is a marketer, and marketers are always looking for ways to improve their profits, even if that means recommending products or services that don’t necessarily benefits the customer.
Take a look at John Chow’s career timeline, taken from his website.
Besides the fact that the timeline has not been updated in three years, notice that he’s an affiliate for My Online Business Empire/MOBE (recently the company changed their name to My Top Tier Business – Click link to read my full review of MTTB).
It doesn’t come as a surprise that he became the top affiliate for the company (let’s assume that’s true) due to his massive blog traffic.
It’s very easy to make money as an affiliate marketer if you already have a list of people to market to.
But, as we all know, My Top Tier Business is a scam, and not recommended for anyone who wants to build an online business.
It’s too expensive, too watered-down, and the training needs a lot of improvement.
Therefore, John Chow promotes a product that has been proven to be a scam.
That’s not very ethical. Considering the price of My Top Tier Business products, it does not come as a surprise that John Chow’s blog makes so much cash!
He also mentions that you can get his product (Blogging With John Chow) for free if you sign-up to his list.
Once you sign-up to the list, and confirm your subscription, he asks you to buy into My Top Tier Business to receive his product for free.
It’s another clever marketing trick to bring in more sales.
We know that My Top Tier Business pays people to sign-up other people, therefore, every time John Chow recommends someone, he earns a commission.
It’s interesting to see how his system works, this is not necessarily what he will teach in his product.

Personally, I don’t think that’s very ethical, it’s classic snake oil salesman tactics.

There are a lot of modules that cover different topics, the main topics are mentioned below.
- Useful tips on how to create a following on social media.
- Gives you the rundown on how to set up a website.
- Some useful link building strategies.
- Keyword research tips.
- Focus on how to write compelling articles that reach large audience. Blogs are all about content, and John Chow teaches people how to produce powerful articles.
- Excellent support, received a response within 24 hours.
- Focus on how to build a list of email addresses, an extremely useful asset for online business. Everyone should have a list!
- Simple navigation, easy to find modules.
- Proven system that has been known to work time and time again.
So there’s a lot of upsides to this product, even if John Chow recommends My Top Tier Business. If you want to start a blog it wouldn’t hurt to check out some of John Chow’s training; it’s not exactly information that you can’t find anywhere else, but it’s a good place to start.

Well, no, it’s not.
It’s a good training course that will give you the rundown on how to build a blog within minimal effort.
It’s always better to follow a proven system instead of trying to figure it out all on your own, it’s faster, and you can avoid a lot of mistakes.
Blogging With John Chow is not a scam, but My Top Tier Business is a scam.
Don’t listen to the hype; it’s an over-priced product that won’t benefit your life.

I have heard of this program, but was never really sure whether it was a decent program or a scam.
Well, now I know Blogging with John Chow is legit and provides some good training and support. The training seems quite complete and I particularly like that you are taught how to build an email list. On the downside, I see there is no hosting or keyword tool included, this will add to the monthly cost of the program.
Seeing someone like this promoting a known scam, would probably be enough to keep me away from the program. This just goes to show the most important thing to John Chow is making money and he doesn’t really care about the poor people he sends to MTTB.
Perhaps my ethics would make me miss out on a good program, but there are more meaningful things than making money at all costs. It’s possible to make a decent living selling legitimate products like your recommendation, Wealthy Affiliate.

That was my original thought when I first heard of Blogging with John Chow because when I did my review of My Top Tier Business, I saw a photo of him being one of the top 1% in MOBE that was actually making serious money. And the more I explored MOBE/MTTB, the more obvious it was that it’s a total scam. Now, a year latter it’s quite well known for being a scam and so it doesn’t speak well of John Chow’s program.
Like I stated in this review, he’s done a good job putting together a good program, but because he promotes an obvious scam like My Top Tier Business I wouldn’t recommend Blogging with John over Bring the Fresh, Niche Profit Classroom, or Chris Farrell Membership Site. And none of these programs can come close to the Wealthy Affiliate Training Center program.
