Is Dosh App a Scam? Is It A Good Way To Make Some Extra Cash?

April 22, 2018 by Todd

is dosh app a scam review image

Dosh does sound like a promising application. So, we set out to answer the question that is on all of our minds: “is Dosh app a scam?”.

Part of the reason why people are cautious about using this app is that it requires users to connect their debit or credit card.

Your card is required because Dosh automatically gives you the cash back rewards, straight to your bank.

The way this app works is that it automatically finds the best cash-back offers for you whenever you shop online. It sounds like a great idea on paper, but a lot of people are suspicious of Dosh app.

Today we’re going to take a closer look at Dosh to see if it’s worth our time.

What is Dosh App?

Dosh app is a free to download application found on both the iOS and Android.

Currently, it’s only available in the USA.

It is an unique application because it automatically finds cash back deals from thousands of brands and merchants.

There are other cash back apps out there,  but these applications require that you send  receipts, promo codes, etc.

Basically, you will need to do a lot more work for these other apps to do their job.

On the other hand, Dosh claims that all you have to do is just shop as you usually do and still reap the rewards of cash backs. Supposedly, the application lets its users take advantage of the massive advertisement industry.

In other words, Dosh wants us to take advantage of the fact that companies are always competing against each other.

How You Earn Money Through Dosh:

There are several cool ways you can earn money through Dosh and you can find a brief summary of each method in this section.

Connect Your Card:

As an incentive to use their application Dosh gives you a neat $5 once you’ve linked your credit or debit card to the app. Not much, but it’s a nice gesture.

Eat at Restaurants:

Cashback rewards can be found at a bunch of restaurants, especially chain stores. You might want to check out which restaurants in your area have special deals.

Go Traveling:

This feature is a personal favorite.

Finding good deals for your hotels or flights is always satisfying to say the least.

And the neat thing about Dosh is that you can book hotels directly through the app.

This means that each deal you partake in will have a cashback reward.

There are sorting options that you can use to see which deals have the highest paying cashback rewards.

Just a heads up, usually the more expensive the hotel, the bigger the cash back.

Dosh also gives you $25 for booking your first hotel.

Another incentive to get people to use their application.

Like I said before, Dosh have its ways of promoting their app. And some of their methods are pretty effective. But, we will get into that later on.

Go Shopping:

So this is the primary way you can earn money. The cool thing about it is that they have deals for both brick and mortar stores as well as online stores.

Referral System:

Okay, so Dosh using a very simple form of affiliate marketing.

Remember how I said you get $5 if you link your credit or debit card to an account?

Well, if you refer a friend or family to the app and they sign up with a credit/debit card, then you will get $5 also.

So if you refer three people to the app and they all sign up using your affiliate link, then you will get $15.

That’s basically how affiliate marketing works. In fact, people have made entire careers and start ups around this business model.

Of course, they usually use a more well-rounded program than what Dosh offers. If you want to know more about this great business opportunity then I suggest you check out this FREE training course…

Pros and Cons of the Dosh App:

Not every app is made perfect, so we are going to list what’s to like and dislike about this app. First up, the cons.

Cons:

  • Not all credit/debit cards work with the app.
  • Unreliable customer call service. You’re better off using snail mail.
  • Unreliable referral program. Apparently some people were complaining that they weren’t getting payed during a special promotion. Now it’s unsure if this was a technical difficulty or not. For now it seems the referral system works.
  • Requires that link a credit/debit card. Ok, so not a con for everyone, but some people don’t really like giving out their card details.

Pros:

  • Convenience. Yup, that’s the name of the game. Convenience sells. You don’t have to scan receipts or mail anything. All you got to do is link up your card.
  • Affiliate program. Like I said before, affiliate programs can be a great way to earn money. While you can only earn some pocket change with Dosh’s affiliate program, there are some programs that let’s gives you enough money to make a living!
  • Traveling. Like I said, one of may favorite features. Who doesn’t like discount deals? You also have a convenient app that helps you find hotels.

Is Dosh App a Scam?

All the evidence points to the contrary.

The Dosh App does not appear to be a scam.

They ensure us that our personal information is never sold.

Furthermore, our credit/debit card data is completely safe and encrypted.

The app is fairly new, so it hasn’t really stood the test of time.

But, so far the Dosh App looks like a legit way for you to earn money on the side.

The Bottom Line with Dosh App:

The bottom line is that yes you can make money from the Dosh app, which means that it most likely isn’t a scam.

An alternative is the GetUpside app.

Dosh is a convenient way to take advantage of cash back deals. And it seems safe to entrust them with your credit/debit cards.

The app can be found on both the Apple Store and Google Play Store. So that is another indicator that it can be trusted.
