Empower Network Review
Product Name: Empower Network
Product Type: Online Business Training
Creator: David Wood and David Sharpe
Price: Varies. Initial Membership $25/month.
Best For: Nobody in my opinion.
Rating: 30/100
Summary: The Empower Network business opportunity is a lot of hype, a poorly managed system that needs a lot of work and the income earnings are actually really low. We can’t technically call it a scam, but you should stay away from this product.

What is Empower Network?
Empower Network is company that provides a wide range of online business training courses.
The flagship product is called Kalatu Basic and it costs $25 a month.
This product is a combination of marketing tools and training material.
You’ll also be able to access the Empower Network Blogging Platform which has been updated quite a few times over the past few years.
The latest platform is interesting because it makes it easy for people to create a website with pre-made templates for various niches.
You’ll also be given a domain name that has been aged.
Aged domain names provide you with a little boost in search engine results.
With the Kalatu Basic membership you’ll be able to set up a website and learn some of the marketing tips that are required to start earning online.
Overall, I think the basic membership level is not bad, and it’s worth a look to gain a little perspective about online business.
There are many other – much more expensive – products though that Empower Network offers.
Some of the Empower Network products do contain useful information that’s updated from time to time.
That may be OK for you, but I like training system that’s…
- Constantly updated.
- Easy to get help.
The main issue I have with this company is not regarding their products, but their affiliate system.
Empower Network Affiliate System: Not Good!
The main reason people ask, “Is Empower Network a Scam?” is due to issues with the affiliate system.
Empower Network has a multi-level marketing affiliate system that’s – supposedly – unique and lucrative.
Joining the program requires an initial payment, a monthly payment, and then an additional payment for the product you want to promote.
In other words, if you want to promote a certain product, then you have to buy that product. That’s not how reputable affiliate programs work.
Obviously, we want to earn more as affiliates, therefore we would – ideally – want to promote the high-ticket products for higher commissions.
For example, the most expensive product is called “Mass Influence Network” and it costs $3500 one-time fee.
To sell that product as an affiliate, you’ll need to buy it.
There are also eight affiliate levels within Empower Network, and the level determines your commission rate.
The standard level is called “Boss” and on that level you can earn around 70% commissions on one-time fee products.
But there’s a catch.
You have to pass up the first commissions to your sponsor.
Let’s take a look at how much we need to spend just to start with this affiliate program:
- Basic Membership Fee: $25/month.
- Affiliate Program Fee: $19.95/month.
- Price for the product you want to promote. Let’s say we want to promote Mass Influence Network. $3500.
- Total: $69.95/month + $3500.
So you buy in.
You scramble to make a sale.
Not many people are interested in a $3500 online business course but you keep on hustling!
Eventually someone sign-ups.
But wait… the commission is sent to the person who sponsored you.
So after spending all that cash to join the system and all that time trying to make a sale… the commission is sent to someone else.
That can be quite frustrating!
Granted, there’s the option to choose a less expensive product to promote, but it’s still quite difficult to earn with Empower Network.
As I mention quite often, to earn money with network marketing business you need to have incredible marketing skills.
Otherwise, it’s much too difficult to succeed.

What Empower Network Members Really Earn?
I like a few things about Empower Network, the first being their level of transparency!
They do their best to be as transparent as possible.
Most people don’t read the fine-print, but it’s there on the website, and it includes links to their compensation plan and their affiliate income disclaimer.
I included a screenshot below:
As you can clearly see, the vast majority of people who join this program don’t make a single sale.
Even the higher level, where 20% of active affiliates are in, only earn an average of $143 a month.
And 6% earn an average of $349/month.
While 92% of all affiliates who join the system earn a grand total of $4 a month.
That’s sad.
Oh, and you have to pay to join the affiliate program. WTF???
Here’s the Breakdown on Empower Network:
In simple terms, over 92% of members are just sending cash into the business and not earning anything from it.
So even though this information does not paint a positive picture for the business, at least it is listed for the public on the website, and that’s good.
There are also disclaimers in other areas of the website that try to make it clear you shouldn’t expect to make cash from these systems.
But that’s interesting because on their main website they have a lot of hype and make tons of promises of wealth.
They’re contradicting themselves. Not a good thing you want from a Proper Online Education.
I did like the new blogging platform, even though the websites only have eight themes to choose from, it still is an interesting concept.

Is Empower Network a Scam?
You probably think Empower Network is a scam because of the income reports in the previous section.
But honestly, Empower Network does have some interesting training material.
The blogging platform is also worth a look.
Other than that, I can’t recommend Empower Network as a legitimate way to earn income online.
The so-called business opportunity also needs a lot of work and you’ll likely spend a lot more than you earn.
So my answer to the question, “Is Empower Network a Scam?” is…
No, it’s not.
But it’s not the best course to join either, and definitely not recommend for people on a low-budget.
It’s contradictory information about the hype of earning big dollars versus the reality of earning $4/month is also a typical scam tactic that too many online income opportunities use – It’s sad.
A Much Better Alternative:
Instead, consider joining a free (trail basis) course that not only includes a wealth of online business training material but also includes an awesome website builder.
You can choose from 1,000’s of themes to fit whatever niche you want to pursue.

Is Empower Network a Scam in your mind? Leave a comment if you have had experiences with Empower Network or their products!
I know there are a million and one ‘make money’ online programs available to the public. I heard of Empower Network, but was skeptical about joining.
Later done some research and was glad I didn’t sign up. I wasn’t comfortable about the structure of the whole program.
Again, many online money making businesses are out there. Some may be good, but who knows.
Wealthy Affiliate is a platform where there’s excellent training on website building and marketing. You can also earn on upgraded referrals. Pick a niche you’re passionate about, then build your site.
Brilliantly stated Ronald. Thanks for your take on Empower Network as well as Wealthy Affiliate (WA).
WA is a straight up educational program that teaches anyone how to be successful online.
The problem is most online money making programs hype up the fast cash concept on auto pilot.
That’s what people want to hear and that’s what screws most people over.
WA makes no claims to money, they simple have a slogan, we’ve never seen anyone fail who didn’t give up.
I also like that you stress to follow your passion. WA’s main focus is to help people create online businesses that their passionate about and to find your own niche doing so.
Cheers,
Todd
Thank you for the the information on the Empower Network scheme.
I am always looking for ways to make money online, with the skills I gain from the things I read and the skills I learn.
I am sure If it wasn’t for this review I might have even joined this scheme and would have really regretted my choice.
Thanks again for the review
You bet Myung, and thanks for your feedback on our Empower Network Review, much appreciated.
I’ve heard a lot of internet marketers that joined Empower Network in the past and they sware it’s a scam.
It’s at the least recommended to avoid these guys. There is so much information online and some of it is great, others are just OK, and then some are outright scams and should be avoided.
I stick with white hat seo for this site and it does nothing but grow in traffic and income. Almost everything I learned comes from Wealthy Affiliate, and they teach nothing but proper internet marketing information for great results and long term online business success.
Regardless of your skill level, you’ll benefit from being a member of the Wealthy Affiliate Training Center.
Cheers,
Todd
Is Empower Network A Scam – seems obvious to avoid at least. Thank you for this review, it really helped me make a decision.
Mostly your alternative idea, I really want to look more into Wealthy Affiliate.
Would I be able to move my own website to their platform? You made it sound pretty simple to build websites, but what about to move?
Hey Kenny,
The move is super easy, you just point your domain name servers to WA’s and you’ve got your cloud hosting set up.
Then you’ll get your site metrics into Site Rubix’s platform and get all kind of helpful add-on’s.
Like.. Site Feedback, Site Comments, & Site Heath.
Basically you can see what areas your site is excelling in and what areas need improvement.
With Wealthy Affiliate’s Premium Membership, you can host up to 25 sites and get an amazing source of helpful internet marketing information.
WA constantly helps me improve my online business, it’s truly an excellent source for any online marketer.
Read our entire review of these guys right here..
Best,
Todd
Hey Todd,
Thank you for the great review on Empower Network. I did check them out and wow! I sure hope people don’t spend 3500.00.. it doesn’t make sense to spend that kind of money just to sell it back. Maybe I’m missing something.
I’m not a fan of MLM, I did it before and didn’t work well for me.
Not only that, I would also not be happy giving my commission to someone else although I suppose I will eventually get someone else’s commission.
Thank you for the heads up on them!
Monica
Nicely stated Monica and thanks for your feedback on our Empower Network review.
MLM’s don’t work for the majority of people, I forget the stat, something like 98% and less make less than $600/year with them.
I like business based on services and/or products that people need.
Building an online business based on this concept is much better for long term results and anyone with a passion can do it.

Hello, Todd!
Funny thing that I’m from Medellin, Colombia haha!
Great review on Empower Network! Is very helpful for people that are searching for alternatives to make an income online, this program seems very bad, but at least they are honest.
MLM is an effective model for business, but not necessarily for people that sign in and don’t make sales.
Thank you again and I wish you the best!
Santiago
Con much gusto Santiago. Q Chevere, Medellin is a bit of a dreamland for me. Yeah, Empower Network is pretty well know for not providing value.
I’ve been on some of their threads and the community is intrigued and wants to learn about internet marketing.
The problem is they’re not getting the quality education they need.
There’s a lot of good members there that need to forget the mlm network marketing concept.
Instead, sell whatever the hell you like by creating a niche site based on value, quality, and help people.
That’s it. You apply content marketing, youtube videos, email marketing, etc., but keep it based on value.
And that’s where programs like Empower Network fade out, and awesome educational centers like Wealthy Affiliate kill it.
Salud,
Todd
I love how you turned it all around back to WA. And Empire Network sucks. Yep Wealthy Affiliate is the place to be.
Good job on the site.
So true Denneston. The value that Wealthy Affiliate offers in incredible.
Most people that experience their system realize how it’s just what they had been looking for when searching online for online money making strategies.
You’ve got access to structured courses, free hosting for 25 websites, supportive community, and an education that’s simple and works.
Thanks for your feedback and see ya on the inside.
Todd
Hi Todd,
I’ve checked out Empower Network and I just can’t believe someone would spend $3500 on something just for the rights to turnaround and sell it.
You should be able to earn a commission just by promoting it.
That would be true affiliate marketing in my opinion.
This is a true MLM giant in the industry with a ton of products that’s for sure. Just not for me. Thanks for the warning!
Yeah Peter, Empower Network has been around for quit a while and it certainly is an interesting product, but not for me either.
And you are absolutely correct, an affiliate needs to pay you for promoting them, not the other way around. This is seen in many online scams, so best to stay away from Empower Network.
If you really want a proper internet marketing education, than Wealthy Affiliate has got you covered.
It’s a straight forward service that has the education, support, and tools to make a full time online income, passive income source, or a massive online business.
It just takes time to learn and to take action on what you learn.
Best,
Todd
Very Interesting, I have never heard of Empower Network until now. That is insane that they would go as high as $3500 for one of their products. It always baffles me that affiliate programs like this charge you in order to become an affiliate. Thank you for the valuable information.
Not many reputable companies charge to be an affiliate. I mean, think about it, you’re putting your time, energy, and skills at promoting someone else’s product.
They pay you to do this, not the other way around. Imagine if Amazon started charging people to enter their affiliate program, people would be in an uproar.
Same deal in my opinion. You can get much better online business and niche marketing training than with Empower Network.
Check out Wealthy Affiliate’s Training Program, the price is great and it’s the most complete online business training resource out there.
