What is Fetch Rewards?
Fetch Rewards is a straightforward gift card earning app. You earn points by using the Fetch Rewards app to scan receipts from either online or in-store purchases. You can install the app, create an account, and start scanning in a matter of minutes.

The first two scanned receipts will give you bonus rewards. The first one gives you 750 bonus points and the second gives you 500. After those two bonus receipts, the points earned per scan will drop to between 5 to 50 points. There are a couple of other ways to earn points too.
Is Fetch Rewards a Scam?
Fetch Rewards is not a scam. It's a legitimate app that rewards you with points and you can redeem those points for a wide variety of gift cards. Gift cards are delivered almost instantly.
Fetch Rewards does not pay members with cash. You can only redeem gift cards. The good news is they have plenty of gift cards to choose from and the minimum doesn't take too long to reach.
Earning Points with Fetch Rewards:
Here are the best ways to earn points with Fetch Rewards:
1 - Scan Receipts
The primary way to earn points with Fetch Rewards is by scanning receipts. Most receipts will pay a minimum of five points. However, if you manage to scan a receipt from a partnered brand, you can earn up to 50 points. You have a 14-day window to scan receipts.
Most receipts from stores such as: hardware, electronics, restaurants, and grocery stores, earn around 25 points each. Make sure all the information on the receipt is readable! Looking for another receipt-scanning app? Take a look at Ibotta.
Quick tip for iPhone users:
You can create a Siri voice command to scan a receipt with Fetch Rewards by following the instructions here.

Side Note:
Electronic receipts are accepted too. You can link Fetch Rewards to your Amazon or Email account and have it automatically scan electronic receipts, adding points to your account. It's a really easy way to earn points on auto-pilot.
2 - Completing Special Offers
These are random bonus offers you can complete. Some of them include lottery-style games, such as scan receipts for a chance to win a prize, and whatnot. There are also partnered offers in this section.
3 - Referral Program
As you might have guessed, Fetch Rewards has a referral program too. You earn a minimum of 2,000 points when some one registers under you and scans at least one receipt.
4 - Use Fetch Pay Debit Card (Invite-only)
Fetch Pay is an invite-only banking platform. If you're invited and accepted, you'll be able to make an online bank account with their banking provider and get a debit card. It's similar to online payment platforms like PayPal.
The Fetch Pay debit card is connected to Fetch Rewards, and you earn 1pt for every $1 spent from the card. You also earn a few thousand bonus points when you fund the card with $100 or more.
The good news is Fetch Pay is a decent online bank, and the card can be used at ATMs or anywhere Mastercard is accepted. Even with Fetch Pay you cannot receive real cash from Fetch Rewards. It doesn't seem like they ever will allow cash payments.
We talked a lot about points, but what can you do with them?

What Can You Do with Fetch Rewards Points?
For most gift cards, one point equals one cent, so 1,000 points would be equal to one dollar, and so on. There are over 200 gift cards in 18 categories to choose from, the most popular of which is Amazon. Another notable one would be Uber credits.
Each gift card has a five value tiers:
- $3
- $5
- $10
- $25
- $50.
Another type of card you can redeem is a Visa or Mastercard pre-paid card. These can be loaded with either $10 to $50 and you can use them at almost any store. For these cards, you need 11,500 points for $10.
How to Redeem a Gift Card
Once you earn enough points, visit the Rewards section, browse to a category that interests you, and take a look at the available gift cards. If you have enough points for a card, it will be circled in orange. In some cases, the card request might take a day or two to process. Since you can redeem gift cards, it's clear Fetch Rewards is not a scam.
Fetch Rewards Pros & Cons:
Pros:
Starting with the pros, Fetch Rewards has lots of good reviews on both on Google Play and the App Store. For the most part, everything works as designed, and scanning receipts only takes a few seconds.
Most of the problems seem to be technical and related to e-receipts. The e-receipt option is new and Fetch Rewards is still ironing out the bugs.
Cons:
The downside Fetch Rewards only works with stores that are located in the United States or Puerto Rico. It does not work internationally, even at chain stores with headquarters in the States. Unfortunately, people outside the States can't scan receipts or use this app.
Another downside is after the initial bonus receipts, the points for each receipt drops to around 25 for each scanned receipt. Granted, scanning a receipt is easy, but you can only have a 14 day window to scan receipts. If a receipt is older than 14 days, you won't be able to scan it.
The Bottom Line:
Overall, Fetch Rewards is an interesting receipt-scanning app and you an easy way to earn gift cards. Fetch Rewards is not a scam and it's a legitimate, safe, and trustworthy platform. Their customer support replies quickly too.
Having said that, you won't be able to make any cash with Fetch Rewards. If you want to learn how to make money online, I suggest taking a look at my favorite online training center.
