Is One Opinion Legit?
One Opinion is a legitimate survey panel created by Dynata LLC, a data, insights, and market research company founded in 1999. One Opinion is one of Dynata's platforms that is designed to collect market research data from users.

One Opinion pays survey takers via prepaid Visa cards, PayPal, or gift cards. Let's take a closer look at how One Opinion works and how much you can expect to earn from them...
How One Opinion Works:
To start, One Opinion has a few important requirements for new members.
Chat Bot for Sign-Up:

An interesting thing about One Opinion is they use a chat bot service to create new accounts. The idea is good but it refused to verify my street name. Completing surveys will reward you with points and you can redeem those points for a variety of rewards. The most popular rewards are PayPal cash and Amazon gift cards.
Where is One Opinion Available?
One Opinion is only available in the United States or United Kingdom.
Previously, One Opinion had local websites in Canada, Germany, Italy, and Australia, but they recently closed down those websites. The only remaining websites are USA and UK.
While you can access the US website from anywhere in the world, you won't be able to create an account if you're not physically located in the region. The registration process does not mention this until the very end of the account creation process.
Personal Information Required:
Here's some of the personal information that One Opinion requests during the registration steps:
- First and last name
- Address & Postal Code
- Date of birth
- Surveys may request further information (hobbies, gender, interests, phone number, etc.)
This information needs to be provided during the chat-bot sign-up process. The bot often struggles to verify the information.
One Opinion Points & Payments:
One Opinion uses a point system and it's easy to calculate that value of your points because 1 point equals $0.001.
How Much Do One Opinion Surveys Pay?
Surveys at One Opinion usually pay between 500 - 5000 points each. The USD equivalent is $0.5 to 5$. It's one of the lower-end survey panels when it comes to payments. The upside was their used to be lots of surveys to complete, however that seems to have changed.
If you're disqualified from a survey five times in a row, you still earn 250 points for your time. The fact that One Opinion pays for disqualified surveys is nice. The good news is points are almost always instantly added to your balance.
You don't need to wait for your survey to be verified or anything like that. Currently there are no mini-games or other tasks to complete for extra points.
Minimum Points to Withdraw from One Opinion:
You need a minimum of 25,000 points to withdraw from the reward store. 25,000 One Opinion points are equal to $25 USD.
Important:
One Opinion points expire 12 months after you earn them.
Types of Rewards:

There a number of options for you to redeem your points in the rewards store. The most popular options are PayPal and Amazon Gift Cards. There's also the option to order a virtual pre-paid Visa card.
PayPal payments are usually processed within 3 - 4 days. As far as I can tell, One Opinion is legit and does pay in a timely manner.
Profile Verification:
Bear in mind, to redeem your points, you need to complete the profile verification process. One Opinion uses Experian to verify profiles with security questions.
The questions are randomly generated based on your physical location. In some cases, you can also upload a document that shows your address.

One Opinion Downsides:
Here are some concerns that I have about the One Opinion platform.
Frequent Account Suspensions:
After reading many One Opinion reviews, I noticed a common issue is people are having their One Opinion accounts suspended for no reason. This is called "placing an account on pause".
Inactive Accounts are Deleted:
You need to know that inactive accounts are deleted, along with all the earnings in them. If your account is not active for 90 days, it will canceled. Activity is defined as starting a survey and answer all questions.
The problem is some times you don't receive any surveys, so there's no way to create "activity". Your account may also be closed if their emails don't go through (full inbox, blocked, etc.).
Make sure you use a good email provider!
Not Many Surveys
Almost all of the One Opinion reviews mention the frequency of survey invites have dramatically dropped. It seems in the last year or two the number of surveys has dried up.
Nowadays, it's takes a significant amount of time to reach the minimum to withdraw because there aren't many surveys to work on.
The Bottom Line:
One Opinion is legit but it's not the best survey panel out there. The low payments, complicated verification steps, and frequent account suspensions are not worth the trouble.
I say if you're in the US or UK, take it for a test run, but don't expect to make any significant income from it. Maybe the quality and number of surveys will increase in the near future, at the moment it's not worth it.
One Opinion Alternatives:
To summarize, One Opinion is legit. It's just not the best survey panel out there.
An Even Better Alternative:
Surveys panels are an easy way to make some quick cash. However, the income from these sites is unreliable.
