Today we will take a look at a product called Work at Home University which is supposedly the ultimate online business training video course on the planet.
The product and URL have went through a few revisions, the name and URL change every few months.
Previously the URL was www.wahuniversity.com but now it redirects to www.wahedu.com, the same goes for it’s older domain names.
Snapshot of Work at Home University
- Name: Work at Home University
- Website: www.wahedu.com
- Price: $97 one time fee
- Type: Instructional Videos
Work at Home University is a product that promises to make it possible for you to create a highly successful online business if you simply follow their instructional videos.
It’s a compilation of informational videos that teach people how to get started with internet marketing but there are a few notable problems that you should know about.
I found a lot of negative reviews, customer complaints, and comments from people who were not satisfied with the training that this product promises.
Upon further inspection, it’s clear that these people are correct.
I was shocked to discover that these training videos don’t provide much value to the customer, definitely not enough to warrant a $97 investment.
Classic High Pressure Sales Page – Classic Scam Warning Signs
I mentioned in the previous article that it’s remarkably easy to tell if a product is a scam by simply analyzing it’s sales page. Unsurprisingly, almost all low value products (scams) use the exact same sales page template and tricks to squeeze in a few more conversions.
To be fair, at least this sales page doesn’t display dollar bills, mansions, sports cars, models, and other signs of wealth. It’s not sugar-coated with a thick layer of hype like similar products, that’s one upside.
Maybe the copywriter was simply lazy or the sales page was copied and pasted from another website, but the sales page definitely needs improvement, it’s not clear what is waiting for you in the members area.
The description is too broad, it’s not transparent, and the tips it claims to reveal in the members area basic advice that can be found through Google in a few seconds.
Special Notice: This is Not a University and No Degrees Can Be Earned
It’s important to keep in mind that this product is not a university and you will not receive a degree or certificate upon completion.
It’s simply a few instructional videos wrapped up in a package of false promises.
What Do The Videos Teach You?
In a nutshell, the videos teach people the bare basics of internet marketing and making money online.
But the core of the videos teach people how to become auction list agent, essentially, how to sell products on website like eBay or Amazon, not exactly a brand new business idea.
I have to say that the videos are not terrible, but they’re extremely basic. Whoever made the videos was simply lazy because I found much more in-depth material on Google for free (in a couple seconds).
Even YouTube has some great videos for anyone who is interesting in this kind of business.
It is a system that is basically the same as drop-shipping; acting as the middle man between manufacturers and buyers.

This is a viable business model and there are plenty of people who have drop-shipping businesses and earn a decent income. However, the problem is that this product only scratches the surface of creating a drop-shipping business.
Click this link to read my top recommended program for drop-shipping and selling on Amazon and eBay.
Drop Shipping Considerations:
In fact, these businesses are rather complicated and I wouldn’t recommend beginners to get involved with importation/drop-shipping without a proper education, this could cost you a lot of money.
Either you get lucky to find a hot generic product that a supplier can ship to Amazon’s Fulfillment Center or drop-ship directly to your customers. Most companies the drop-ship from China have problems with delivery and are counterfeit products.
To really brand a product and sell on Amazon/eBay takes some training.
If you’re not familiar with a drop-shipping business, the seller doesn’t have to handle the stock if he or she doesn’t want to, all he has to do is send a receipt or invoice the supplier and they’ll ship the product to the customer directly.
And of course, not all suppliers are willing to ship out products to individual buyers, it depends.
But this can create problems, especially if the product is advertised as an American product and arrives from some town in China, it won’t help increase customer loyalty.
Nevertheless, drop-shipping is a interesting but complicated business model, and Work at Home University does not provide sufficient training to start a drop-shipping business. It barely scratches the surface.
Outdated Marketing Tactics:
I noticed that the training videos recommended outdated marketing tactics, such as article directory marketing for back-links and traffic.

Submitting articles to article directories is a marketing strategy that used to work a long time ago but Google has cracked down on these marketing schemes, and, currently, the back-links from article directories are practically worthless (the traffic is also non-existent).
It’s sad that product creators fill their products with outdated marketing strategies that will do more harm than good and then charge the customer a ridiculous fee.
Unfortunately, new scams pop up on a daily basis and it can be difficult to crackdown on all of them, the internet still makes it easy for people to anonymously create websites and products, making it difficult to take legal action against scammers.
Final Word: Too Expensive and Lacks Value:
The sales page lures people in with promises of wealth and an online business education, but the training teaches something completely different.
In reality, the videos are all about drop-shipping and auction listings. You should also know that once you enter your contact information you will be bombarded with email spam and phone-calls.
A nuisance.
All in all, when it comes down to it, this product lacks value. It’s too expensive and the videos are no-where near worth the price tag.
Work at Home University could be a great product if they deleted all their current training videos and did a complete overhaul. But something tells me the people behind this product are not truly interested in making it easier for people to create an online business.
If you want to check out a online business training course, I recommend this one below, it’s the best online business training center that I found so far.
Guess what? It’s free to check it out.

Please let me know your thoughts on this review of Work at Home University.
Good grief! If Work at Home University is promoting article marketing, it’s an antique! Article marketing will get you nowhere. It might even get your website penalized by the search engines.
Your recommendation for Wealthy Affiliate is spot on. That’s where I learned to build a successful online business after struggling for too many years.
Hi Gary,
I really appreciate your feedback on our Work at Home University review and Wealthy Affiliate. There’s so many bogus training programs online that it becomes a frustrating ordeal to find a reliable source.
It only took me a year or so and in hindsight I wish I would have found WA years ago, but what are you gonna do?
At least this review will help those like us that wanted to find a reliable online training course to learn how to create successful online businesses.
Salud,
Todd
I have my review of the Work at Home University and as I know, they offer a mediocre training on CPA and have many upsells. Plus, they show unrealistic earnings that most people will never be able to achieve. In my list this program is not a scam, but like you say they fail to provide a real value and that’s why I don’t recommend this program. For a much lower price you can find much better alternatives on the internet.
Thanks Rufat for your feedback and giving your experience working with Work at Home University. And absolutely, you can get some amazing training online for much less money if you get hooked up with Wealthy Affiliate.
I did a couple months of PPC training at Wealthy Affiliate and I found it easy to follow and apply to my online businesses. The focus WA teaches is all about building relevant PPC campaigns that are keyword based for high conversions.
Is Work at Home University a scam? Who cares when the training doesn’t really help you build a successful online business. For that, I recommend the gents at Wealthy Affilaite.
Cheers,
Todd
Hi, thank you for this work at home university review, it saves me of potential troubles. I will be keeping my distance from this work at home university scam. Strange that they go that far to call themselves a university. This is far from any university education. In the comparison table you have only 2 checks for them but you still give them 5/10. This is a bit strange, I would expect 2/10. Bit it does not matter, I share your general view about it. You nicely summarized work at home university as a package of empty promises.
Hi Jovo,
Thanks for your feedback on our review of Work At Home University. And yes, calling themselves a university is on the ridiculous side. I didn’t give Work At Home University a 5/10, I gave them a 5/100 and the only green checks I gave them were for having an affiliate program and that there is step by step training.
But a 5/100 score is pretty much a horrible score. Just another online program to stay away from. Now if you’re looking for the closest thing to an internet marketing university, you won’t be disappointed with Wealthy Affiliate’s training program. I’ve been with them almost two years and still haven’t gone through all their Webinars and training courses.
Take care,
Todd
Thanks for bringing this scammer forward. People should be well aware of this Work at Home University. The name they have chosen is very attractive and looks legit. Once I just checked this site and after a through review reading came to know the emptiness of this so called university.
This type of program should be banned and I think there should be a internet watch dog who should monitor and stop these scammers from doing business and scamming people. People are everyday loosing their hard earned money to these types of scammers.
You please put a verdict at the top of this post so, people who don’t have time to read the full article should come to know the quality of this company at first glimpse of your review.
Hey Pakiza,
Thanks for your feedback on Work at Home University scam review. And thanks for your advice, but I think most people who are really taking the time and searching for info about Work at Home University will take a little time to read the review or at least peruse the heading and see the final recommendation.
It sounds like you’ve been a victim of online scams before and yes, agreed, it’s pretty despicable to put up a front of being some kind of university when clearly it’s not. But these are the same deceitful tactics that all online scams use.
If it concerns making easy money online through an automated system, you’ll looking at a scam. Making real money online involves providing helpful goods and or services to people. And so you have to be willing to create a strong foundation to your online business that will serve your readers for years to come – and this in turn will serve your financial needs and ability to make money online.
Thanks,
Todd
Thanks for the informative review on Work at Home University. I’ll be staying away from this worthless scam. I am also looking for some good affiliate programs and have a few questions if you don’t mind.
In your Finding a Niche post you wrote: “The key is to try to identify products that are hot sellers in today’s market”. What happens if the product is only a trend or I would say is not hot anymore, do I have to change niche?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Nasrat, thanks for your feedback on our Work at Home University.
To answer your question, niche websites can be small specific niches that have just a few pages of content that can rank quickly and promote a specific niche that’s seasonal or based on a new trend.
For example, a Wealthy Affiliate student that I know made a niche site based on the Jason Bourne Series. He sold martial arts related products that were used with the fighting style that Jason Bourne used. He made some good money when that movie was really popular, and now just keeps the site and makes occasional sales. He did well with the niche and didn’t have hundreds of posts invested into it. So the niche was small, only required the initial work, and paid off well
Or you can have a niche based on topics that never go out of style. Things related to health, making money, or relationships (these are your 3 big hallmark niches). Things related to these niches, sub-niches, won’t go out of style ever. People will always be interested in these 3 niches.
I wrote a post that talks about this called How to Create a Free Business Website that will break this concept down for you.
Then you can affiliate yourself with multiple products or concentrate on one or two products that won’t go out of style. But make sure that product really helps people within your niche.
The key is to do keyword research on your niche by looking at phrases that are related to the niche. Here’s another post that covers this topic –
How To Find The Best Keywords For My Website
Hope this helps.
Thanks for your feedback and questions,
Todd
Hi Todd
Thanks for your extensive review of Work at Home University.
I’ve never heard of this organisation and it’s training.
I tried to quickly check the site and it is not even easy to find. It shows clearly they need to training in online marketing versus providing it.
In comparison to WA it scored 5/100. They aren’t worthy of being on the net. Google should be looking at some of these scams in order to close them down.
Ah Ah, if they do the internet would shrink.
You also mentioned 3 months unlimited access which means the $97 charge is too expensive for such low quality program.
Thanks for the review.
Kav
Thanks Kav for your feedback on our Work at Home University. Yeah, it’s pretty much an outdated training program that, like most internet marketing training, falls short when it comes to training, education, and support.
Three critical factors that are very important when starting an online business. And three factors that Wealthy Affiliate accelerates in.
Glad to have helped, cheers.
Todd
It is a good idea for the internet to crack down on people creating these sorts of sites (referring to Work at Home University) that scam people out of their hard earned money.
A policy should come in where you are not allowed to open a site without using your real name and details.
People should be able to find out who the person is behind the site is, and if the person has a clear conscience, this shouldn’t be a problem.
Agreed Michel, if you can’t back up your internet marketing product with a real name, then something is fishy. That’s one of the first red lights when you’re looking into an internet marketing program like Work at Home University.
After reviewing hundreds of internet marketing products, I’ve never seen a legit product that was backed by the original authors name and credentials and/or background.
Thanks for your feedback on our Work at Home University review.
Todd
Thanks for exposing this empty Work at Home University program. There is so much good information online and it’s quite difficult for the average user, such as myself, to be able to filter out the junk. This review is quite helpful and will save me a lot of time.
Concerning drop ship, some people do quite well with drop shipping. However, drop shiping is just not for me. I just don’t have the passion and drive that are needed to succeed with drop ship issues, and that’s OK. It’s nice to have various business and marketing niches so that we can find that works for our individual circumstances.
I’ll definitely avoid Work at Home University. I’ve started reading your article about Amazon. Seems quite interesting. Great introduction to Wealthy Affiliate. I like your comparison chart as well. Thanks for the valuable information.
You bet, happy to have helped. Work at Home University is not worth the time or effort, but I know consumers are getting hit hard by online make money programs and it’s a bit ridiculous the amount of poor information online.
I enjoyed drop shipping on Amazon and did quite well, but I didn’t like the issues of customer service, dealing with manufacturers that made mistakes, and shipping issues. I found that creating niche based sites that help people are much easier to make money online through affiliate marketing.
If you are going to go the drop shipping route, I’d recommend Skip McGrath’s (eBay/Amazon Power Seller) educational program and start selling online with these traffic giants.
And if you want to create your own online businesses by selling affiliate products or your own products, I’d get educated on SEO, keyword research, etc., via Wealthy Affiliate Training Center (click the link to learn more about what these guys did for me).
Two of my top training programs that I recommend.
Best,
Todd
Hello Todd. Thank you for your great reviews.i tried to register with WEALTHY AFFILIATE,but they are not accepting Nigerians.I;m so sad about this. Do you know any legit company online that you can recommend that accepts Nigerians, so that we,Nigerians can also benefit from as well. Thank you.
Hi Akos,
Thanks for your question and if you go to the comments section on our Wealthy Affiliate review, dated OCTOBER 6, 2015, you can see my response to a similar question. Here’s the link to check it out, just go to the comments at the end of the review to see it.
Basically, there are currently 7 countries that are banned from ONLY the Starter Membership. Reason being is because of the extensive history of continuous hacking and cheating problems from these countries.
This DOES NOT prevent you from buying the Premium membership for $47/mo or yearly for less than $30/mo. Either way, that’s not much money for the immense amount of information, guidance, and structured classes that you get to teach you step by step how to build your online businesses. It will be the cheapest professional education you’ll ever find.
Check out the link, you can read my response and read the thread from Wealthy Affiliate regarding this issue. Wealthy Affiliate is a spam free learning environment, and after extensive abuse from the banned countries, WA has made it mandatory to pay for the Premium Membership in order to join.
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions,
Todd
