Welcome to our My Top Tier Business review. Let me guess, you saw Matt Lloyd’s sales video and are pumped about earning fat affiliate commissions with these guys.
Now you are doing your due diligence and checking this program out before sinking any money into this system.
Good for you!
I must admit, the sales pitch is well presented with a concept that is fairly simple to understand.
Rather than being an affiliate marketer for Amazon or Clickbank, selling relatively inexpensive products and receiving smaller affiliate commissions, why not be an affiliate to high end products that make huge affiliate commissions.
Sounds great, right, but what’s the catch?
Just keep reading and you’ll find out…
Product Name: My Top Tier Business (MTTB). My Online Business Empire (MOBE)
Product Type: Affiliate Marketing/Online Business Training
Creator: Matt Lloyd
Price: $97 initial application fee with $2,000 to $9,000 in Up-Sells
Best For: Nobody in my opinion.
Rating: 0/100
Summary: While some beginner online marketers report affiliate sales from marketing on sites like Click Ad Pays, it’s not recommended.
There a much better ways to get warm, targeted internet customers and I feel Click Ad Pays is a distraction and waste of time from those who are serious about building online business and online wealth.

What is My Top Tier Business?
The My Top Tier Business program offers a 21 step training course for $97 dollars (the $97 dollars is actually called an application fee). The program offers large commissions on high end expensive affiliate products and resort packages.
My Top Tier Business promises the highest commissions in affiliate marketing that range between 50% – 90%. The owner, Matt Lloyd claims that by selling their products you can make sizable commissions of $1,200, $5,000, and $9,000 using their 7 step business plan. See the ad below.
What is Not Told in the Sales Video is…
That after a week of lessons in the course, you must pay a $1,997 fee to continue to the next lesson. Now the $1,997 is a franchise fee that basically allows you to sell the same program that you just bought into.
With this fee you also become an affiliate to another one of Matt Lloyd’s companies called MOBE, (My Online Business Empire).
Then you can begin as an affiliate to promote MOBE products and sell the MOBE license that you just bought.
Now what’s really important to mention here is that in order to make those large $5,000 and $9,000 commissions that hooked us with from the beginning is..
You have to purchase those licenses first before you every will have the chance sell these products and make those huge commissions.
So, you guessed it, your going to be paying…
Another $5,000 to $9,000 dollars… before you ever get a chance to sell overpriced all inclusive hotel marketing conferences and make those big commissions.
The whole time you’re listening to Mr. Lloyd’s presentation you’re thinking: the education is free, then it’s a $97 application fee, then, in order to finish the week of courses, it’s another $1,997 Franchise Fee.
And folks, to me, that’s misleading advertising, and almost a bait-n-switch tactic.
This also is not affiliate marketing. In affiliate marketing, you don’t have to pay someone to market their product.
The concept here is you make money by first buying into their expensive franchise, then you refer people who want to make money online to the My Top Tier Business program.
Is My Top Tier Business a Scam?
It technically isn’t. You see, they pay their affiliates commissions and so technically, MTTB isn’t a scam.
Now if you have a website and generate a good amount of traffic, you could see some good sales commissions from this type of product.
But you’ve got to consider the dishonest approach of not informing potential clients or friends that once they get into the system after paying $97 dollars, that they are going to have to fork over another $2,000 dollars to continue the training.
Not to mention they will be constantly up-sold on more expensive licenses in order to really generate the BIG COMMISSIONS.
The reality is… that the affiliate programs that are associated with My Online Business Empire, can be marketed for free without using the My Top Tier Business or the other MOBE programs.
You can go directly to these companies and create your own affiliate relationships and market their products without paying the $2,000 franchising free.
To me this is just dishonest marketing.
Just have the nerve to tell people upfront what the costs are, and let them decide to pursue it if they see the value in the program.
Plus, for those who can’t afford the franchising fee, they have now wasted 7 days, $97 dollars, and can’t continue learning from the program.
What I Like About MTTB:
The training appears to be pretty solid. MTTB offer daily tutorials that last about an hour long as well as personal coaching and customer support via Skype.
Many of those that don’t continue to pursue the training because of the $2,000 franchising fee have agreed that the initial training was helpful.
But I’d say that $97 dollars is pretty expensive for a week of training.
As a matter of fact, the training program that taught me how to build my online business offers a Free 7 Day Starter Membership and I guarantee you’ll learn as much if not more than with these guys.
And it won’t cost you a thing.
The other thing that I like is the commission structure of the MOBE franchise.
Normally, affiliate marketers get paid one time when someone comes and buys a product. Once that purchase is complete, that’s the end of the referral fee unless you market membership based products.
With the MOBE franchise, your commission structure and payouts are much higher. You get 90% of the commission from the initial referral.
Then if that customer makes other purchases through MOBE without your involvement, you continue to make a 50% commission on whatever they purchase. You also get a 50% commission from anyone who purchases the MOBE franchise fee as well.
What I Didn’t Like
I love it when marketers just lay out the facts and then let you, the consumer, make the decision based on real information.
My Top Tier Business sales pitch doesn’t do this.
Without taking the time to investigate the program, a person watching the sales video would join the program and be extremely disappointed when they find they have to pay an additional $1,997 dollars to continue the training.
The other negative aspect is that MTTB talks about how easy it is for new affiliate marketers to make great money without any affiliate marketing experience.
If you know anything about affiliate marketing, you know that it takes time to establish a business, website, and your affiliate marketing programs.

Then ask yourself if this program is worth the investment.
My Top Tier Business’s Money Back Guarantee
Now there is a 1 year money back guarantee with MTTB.
However, I found a personal experiences with My Top Tier Business that I had to share.
This shows you how the owner and customer service handle their money back guarantees.
In February 2014, this gentleman went through the sales pitch, signed up, took the week of classes, bought the franchise MOBE licensee for $1,997.
Then he went ahead and paid 1 of 4 monthly installment payments ($6,600) for the Platinum and Titanium Licenses (Remember you have to buy those franchise licenses in order to be able to sell those two products).
This Guy Got Moebed!
However, he didn’t receive access to the Platinum account, so he called his personal rep who responded a couple days later that he had fixed the glitch and that he would access to his account.
He did not.
For a week he called MTTB customer service and left Facebook messages without a response. The client then filed a dispute with his bank which then got their attention (11 days later).
They emailed him that his account was fine and that he now has full access to his membership/franchise. But by this time, the client didn’t want to have anything to do with My Top Tier Business.
He requested his money back and got NO RESPONSE.
He pursued assistance from MTTB customer service and the owner, Matt Lloyd himself. Both blew him off and to this day he has NEVER heard back from Matt Lloyd or the My Top Tier Business program about a refund.
He was lucky to have a good credit card though and was able to recover…
- $4,999 dollars back via credit card protection due to the violation of the contract by MOBE/MTTB.
- But lost $3,598 dollars from his debit card. The bank requested that the customer work out the dispute with MOBE.
MTTB has yet to return the gentleman’s call.
How’s that for a 1 Year Money Back Guarantee and Customer Services?

My Top Tier Business Price:
The price is free, right? Just kidding 🙂
Here are some of the prices that I discovered, I’m sure there are many more that I’m not aware of.
- There is the $97 dollar application fee (A year ago it was $47).
- Then a week into the program you have to pay the $1,997 MOBE franchise fee.
- Optional $5,000 dollars for the Platinum License
- Optional $9,000 for the Titanium Licenses
- There is also a monthly payment of $99 to be in the “Inner Circle”.
Final Opinion on My Top Tier Business:
I recommend you stay away from My Top Tier Business and My Online Business Empire (MOBE). They don’t honor their guarantees and my impression is that if you join them, you are in for a ride of costly Up-Sells.
It almost feels like a mlm or pyramid scheme with an affiliate program.
You don’t have to risk the bank to make great money online. I know the lure of fast cash online is attractive, but that’s typically what online scams preach to get you to buy into their overpriced program.
Now if you’re going the route of eCommerce, you can see some pretty big returns on your investment.
You can also make great money in affiliate marketing, but this takes a bit more time to develop your education and online business.
Creating an online business isn’t any different than going to college or a trade school. You’ve got to learn and put in the work to get something out of it.
But, you don’t have to accumulate massive student loan debt, well unless you go the MTTB route.
Instead, I recommend you risk nothing.
Take our free internet marketing training course and see what works for you. Maybe you’re destined for eCommercce, maybe it’s affiliate marketing or funnels.
The point is, you don’t have to risk a dime, you can take the course and decide which path is right for you.

I am done with all of this how to make money online and then they leave you hanging. I tried mobe because I needed money and paying 49 was not hard but if I would have known it’s a scam I would have treated myself for dinner instead.
What makes me think that I would do it again even with the one you said is the perfect one. I do believe if we are to make money online we have to worked hard to get it.
I lost all hope from this internet scam mobe, they all scam. I want to know what’s true in this day. I’m tired of getting nothing, that is so pitiful even you the talk about scams this and scams that. I don’t even live in the US, aparentemente no hay justicia para nadie.
Hi Luz,
I’m sorry to hear you’re story. MOBE is a nightmare for many people, same with My Top Tier Business. Making money online isn’t an easy thing. It’s not hard and It’s not hard to understand the basic concepts, but you have to be willing to learn and take action on what you learn. If you can do this, you can make money online.

MOBE was recently shut down by the Govt. and the members are now facing fraud charges.
See mobe dot com for more.
I just read your review of mobe, unfortunately I just paid my application fee of $47.95 plus $4.95 to get to the page that indicated it was $47.95 to join. I have also contacted my personal coach via skype, but have yet to get a response. When he does respond I will question him about future costs. If he indicates the $$ you mentioned I will tell him I want a refund and out of the program..
Thanks for your info.
You are very welcome Charles, happy to help.
My Top Tier Business/MOBE are going to try to sell you on the other franchise affiliate programs as a way for you to make more money with them. They’ll also try to sell you on all the “easy money” you’ll make. It’s there jobs, they’re sales people.
That’s how these types of scams operate. If you do enough research on MOBE/MTTB/Matt Lloyd you will know that’s they’re recognized as a scam in the internet marketing world. It’s just high pressure sales – And these types of programs don’t last. Most people make next to nothing using their systems.
If you are really serious about building an online business based on internet marketing, I’d highly recommend you start with the Free Starter Membership offered by Wealthy Affiliate.
Then you can see if affiliate marketing is a good fit for you. The reality is that anyone can do affiliate marketing and put up a profitable niche website. It just takes a few things..
– A Passion
– A cool Website that helps people that are also interested in your niche/passion
– An Educational Program to teach you how to build websites, rank content, and apply proven marketing tactics. Plus the support at WA is awesome.
If you have the passion, a good work ethic, and understand that it will take you some time (like all businesses, online or offline), you can create a successful online business.
How much that business can make is up to you.
For me personally, I’d rather spend 6 months to a year to produce a website that is helpful, one that I can be proud of, and one that makes me passive income online. And that’s what the educational course that Wealthy Affiliate has provided me, so I highly recommend them.
It’s just like any other professional education, you just need to learn the material and apply it. The cool thing about creating a website based on affiliate marketing techniques is that as you are creating your business, you begin earning a little money. Then it turns into consistent monthly income, and eventually a passive income source that requires a little maintenance.
I had to go through 7 years of college before I made any money in Occupational Therapy, but it only took me 3 months to start earning with affiliate marketing.
Thanks for your feedback Charles and if you have any questions on how to get started making money online, please let me know.
Cheers,
Todd
I
Great Review Todd on My Top Tier Business! Sounds to me way to much money to take a chance on, in hopes to make money. I don’t know who in the right mind would spend that kind of money right off the bat anyways…
I feel sorry for those who do, cause I’m sure it’s none refundable to boot. Definitely one to stay away from… Thanks again Todd
Thanks Jennifer for your comment and feedback on My Top Tier Business Review. Not only is it incredible expensive to try their program, it’s deceitful how you have to pay almost $100 dollars to take the first level of courses only to realize that you have to fork over another couple of thousand dollars to continue on with the training.
Followed by the fact that you are bombarded with upsell after upsell only to affiliate yourself with overpriced products that would be extremely challenging to sell. Not recommended for anyone who is new to internet marketing.
Plus when you consider the example of the guy who got MOBED, he lost $3,600 dollars from the company after they advertised a year Money Back Guarantee. When you consider these types of business practices, I can’t recommend this product to anyone, newbies or seasoned internet marketing pros.
It’s just too dishonest and shady. Better to stick with a company that has been teaching affiliate marketing for over 10 years and is open and honest. That’s why I recommend Wealthy Affiliate as an alternative to those that want to learn how to build successful online businesses.
Thanks again for your feedback Jennifer and have a great day.
Todd
Excellent review of My Top Tier Business, Todd.
I was in their program recently and have one piece of advise – Stay away from My Top Tier Business. Sure, they have actual products, but you will hardly ever hear about them. The only stuff you’ll hear about is the potential $1k, $3k and $5k commissions, for recruiting new members.
That is obviously the major, and almost only, focus of the whole thing. Without it the pyramid would crumble.
Hi Christopher,
Thanks so much for leaving your personal feedback on the My Top Tier Business program. It’s great to have the feedback from an ex-member of My Top Tier Business.
And this is exactly the point with most all of these hyped up money making systems. The focus is always on the money, never on the products or education.
Ideas of making big money with little effort because you rely on some system to make your money is just not plausible. I hate to sound like a broken record, but real businesses exist and make great money online, but you’ve got to work for it. If people can understand this, they would be less inclined to fork over thousands of dollars to online scams like My Top Tier Business and invest in themselves.
If you would like to learn how to make money online, check out my 5 step guide or read about producing an affiliate website. Follow these steps, get yourself educated, and start building your own online business today.
Thanks again for your feedback and have a great day.
Todd
Excellent Blog agree with your amazing content. I think i will avoid the my top tier business program. thank you
Thanks Alan and it’s my pleasure. Thanks for you kind feedback on my site and My Top Tier Business Review. Come back anytime and take care.
Todd
I couldn’t tell you how many times I have heard ‘successful internet marketers’ and even MLM, use McDonald franchise as an example of affiliate marketing. No doubt, McD is very successful. But, at least at McD, you pay and get your burgers. With internet marketing, you keep giving away your money and wonder when you’ll ever get the chance to ‘eat that Big Mac.’
$1,000 is not a small fee for a single start-up on the internet where people can now get way cheaper options to build an affiliated web business. Moral of the story – you don’t want to be in Justin’s shoe, so read as many reviews as you can until you are convinced that the product delivers good quality, before you actually sign up.
Great analogy Cathy, love it. The McD’s identifier is quite clever, it sucks people in thinking what a great franchise opportunity. It’s really sad how many people lose money with these types of scams. That poor guy who lost $3,600 coined that expression in the post, “I’ve been MOBED”. Man I’d be going after their company with an attorney with a Money Back Guarantee like that. Thanks for your comments as always, love them.
Have a great day,
Todd
Once again Todd you laid it all out! Thank you for the great information, and heads up to yet another dishonest company. It blows my mind sometimes how people can actually feel good about themselves sucking people in. Thanks again for the heads up and awesome information!
Hi Christina, isn’t the power of greed amazing? People get sucked into a money making opportunity when in reality it’s a pyramid scheme with only the top people making any real money. You think you are their sales partner but in reality you’re their unsuspecting client being up-sold on overpriced education. 5,000 to 9,000 dollars to be an affiliate for a company. Sorry purchase a franchise fee. But there are some great, real, honest programs out there if you can get past all the BS.
Thanks for your comment and have a great day,
Todd
I have also received that email and was immediately suspicious.
However like everyone that wants to make a living setting at home I went to check it out.
I found your review afterwards and I think that you have done a great job of answering any questions that I had.
Makes you wonder how these people are able to get away with this in online business but would be shut down if it was one that was located on your local street corner. I don’t get how that is not considered stealing money and why more is not done to protect folks from these online muggers.
Good to know there are people like you out there that are trying to educate people about this scams.
Really enjoyed the read. Thanks for the help,
Jason
You bet Jason, I think the only form of protections is through word of mouth and website reviews. Nothing is truly illegal about what they are doing. But it’s pretty dishonest to trick people this way. Please let anyone you know about Top Tier Business scam and if anyone wants or needs to read more about them, just have them check out this article.
Thanks for the comment and take care.
