Rat Race Rebellion is an interesting website that provides links to various work from home jobs.
The platform has been around for over 10 years and has gained quite a dedicated fan base online.
Today in this Rat Race Rebellion review we’ll examine the platform to see if it really does link people to legitimate work from home jobs, or if it’s another scam to avoid.

What is Rat Race Rebellion?
The website was built by Christine Durst and Michael Haaren in 1999 and it has been featured in a few shows like Good Morning America, Dr.Oz, and a couple of others.
As we know, there are a ton of these websites out there that promise work from home jobs but lead people on a wild goose chase.
To clarify, Rat Race Rebellion is completely free, it’s like a database of companies looking to hire out of office workers.
Technically, it’s not a product. More like a brand.
So I’ll cut to the chase and tell you Rat Race Rebellion is not a scam.
Does that mean it’s a lifesaver and a source of unlimited online work?
Let’s see.
Rat Race Rebellion Jobs:
Rat Race Rebellion syndicates a bunch of work from home opportunities, but what exactly does it offer?
Here are types of job listings you can find on the platform:
- Coaching
- Editor
- Proofreading
- Fashion Stylist
- Voice Over
- Pet Sitter
- Driver
- Chat Host
- Answer Questions
- Complete Tasks
- Instructor
- Tutors
- Artists
- Customer Service
Basically, the only criteria the platform uses to list opportunities is if the work can be completed at home.
Speaking of working from home. If you’ve got the gift for gab, than maybe Inbound Closer is the direction to take. There, they teach you how to create your own telemarketing gigs from home!
They don’t really filter the opportunities or businesses, so it’s up to you to decide if an opportunity is legitimate.
In a nutshell, Race Race Rebellion syndicates every work at home job and lists them all in one place.
Every thought of running your own Search Engine Marketing (SEM) company? If you’ve got sales skills, this could be a profitable online option. Check out our latest Parallel Profits Review to see if this might be up your alley.
Rat Race Rebellion Complaints:
Sounds like the perfect website. Not so much, a lot of people do complain about the platform.
In this section we’ll talk about some common Rat Race Rebellion complaints.
1. Mostly for US Residents:
The main complaint is that most of the jobs are only available to US residents.
Some of the companies don’t mind hiring from overseas, but most of them require people who live in US.
2. Demanding Work for Low Pay:
One thing I noticed is most of the jobs posted are for full-time positions, not just job assignments.
And most of them are quite demanding with low rates.
For example, there’s a post I came across on the site that requires at least 4 years of experience and a wide range of computer skills, for $10/hour.
So like most work from home platforms, there is a lot of junk to sift through.
But I don’t doubt there are some good opportunities on the site.
3. Some Broken Links:
I also noticed a lot of the links are broken. When you click on an ad, it either redirects back to Google, or displays a “Page not found” error.
Fun fact: the previous product I reviewed, Arise Work From Home, is advertised on this platform as well.
For a free platform, it’s not too bad.
Rat Race Rebellion Pros:
There are a few things I noticed which are cool and useful.
1. Organize Your Search for Fresh Listings:
Rat Race Rebellion lets you organize listings by newest first which makes it easier for you get your pitch in before everyone else.
2. Subscribe to Be In the Know:
You can also subscribe to their list to be notified as soon as something new is posted on the site.
3. Wide Range of Opportunities:
But what I liked most about the platform is they list so many opportunities in a wide range of industries.
I was surprised when I discovered some job titles I never heard of before, like Court House Researcher, Chat Hosts, Audience Sitter, and more.
You can find work as a driver too.
Quite interesting!
Overall I was impressed with the amount of work on the site and the wide range of categories.
Their Facebook and social media is pretty active too, with people in the comment section discussing the opportunities.
Can You Make Money at Home without a Job?
Most of the opportunities on Rat Race Rebellion are for legitimate jobs, which means full-time work at home.
If you think sending out a detailed resume and climbing through all the employment hoops to get a work from home job is hassle, that’s because it is.
Contrary to what you might have heard, it’s possible to make money working from home without years of experience and official employment.
You can build your own website and turn it into a profitable business by using it as a platform to advertise your products or services. I did it. As a matter of fact, people from all over the world are doing it and some, in less than 6 months making 4 Figures per month online..
Don’t believe me? Check out this post, click the image below…
The cool thing about building a website is the money can keep coming in long into the future.
For example, if you write one article, include an affiliate link, and that article ranks in Google, it could keep making money for you for a long time. Get enough of those articles on your site and before long you’re making a full-time income almost on auto-pilot.
Of course, it takes hard work to get there.
And if you’re a complete beginner you’ll probably head down a rabbit hole of online courses, scams, and other ideas.

Conclusion:
Rat Race Rebellion is a decent platform for work at home jobs, but it takes awhile to filter out the low paying opportunities and broken links. Still if you’re down on work, it’s worth taking a look at the site.
Personally, as I mentioned before, I think instead of working for someone else for below minimum wage, it would be better to create your own service and charge your own rates.
Alternatively, freelance marketplaces like Up Work are another place to look for work.

I’ve been working from home for a long time. On many days it’s great, while on some days I admit that it has its challenges. This company has been around a long time. Straight away I can see that they are for real.
The best part is that they’ll connect you with companies who are looking at stay-at-home workers across the United States.
Thanks for the feedback on working with Rat Race Christina, much appreciated.
I am pretty surprised with this post. Rat Race Rebellion is an AMAZING site and they post ALL types of jobs ranging from $8/hour to over $30/hour. I have never found a scam job and neither have my friends (I have referred TONS of people). I’m sorry that you didn’t have a good experience but to be honest, I’d give RRR 100/100!
Awesome Janelle and thanks for your feedback on Rat Race Rebellion. When I evaluate an online program that people can make money from, I’m looking at a number of factors.
With Rat Race, we linked to one program that’s advertised on their platform that is a pretty shady program. Some would call it a scam. If Rat Race Rebellion is doing a better job at screening their work from home opportunities, that’s great. But that wasn’t the case when I reviewed the platform.
Lastly, when you look a making money online via tasks or jobs that pay an hourly wage, you’re always trading your time for money. What I teach is how to build your own online business, one that can make full time income but can also become a passive income source.
So when I look at task based or hourly jobs online, they’re great for some people, but for most, they don’t accomplish what people are trying to achieve by making money online. With an online business, you create the ability to make money online perpetually from your efforts you did one time. For example, today I woke up and received $375 dollars in commissions based on past work I did. So that’s a pretty cool thing.
With proper training, anyone can do the same thing. As a matter of fact, here’s 10 Success Stories of Affiliate Marketers. These are people from all over the world that have no experience in online business. Some have only been doing it for 6 months and are making nice 4 figure/month incomes. Others, after working on their online business are able to produce 5 Figure incomes/month.
So when you think in these terms, maybe you’ll understand the rating better.
Best,
Todd
When a person need money, they will try anything. You have laid out the obstacles this site. User beware! You cannot say it any simpler than that. It is good that Rat Race does allow you to filter the jobs. Yes give me the latest information in order to avoid some competition. I just think that it is sad that a company will pay you little of nothing when you need it the most. Keep writing!
Thanks for your feedback Chris on our Rat Race review. It works for some but for those who need money quickly, check out this post on how to make money online fast.
Otherwise it’s best to have some steady income while you’re building your online business so that it’s not too stressful and you can focus on helping your Niche audience out which in turn will help your business become successful.
Thanks, Todd
I think your article is really great to me and all. I have benefited greatly by reading it. You discuss in your article about the Rat Race Rebellion website. You said the Rat Race Rebellion is an interesting website that provides links to various work from home jobs. So, for your kind information, I have been benefited, I didn’t realize there were so many actual hourly Jobs that you could find online. Thank you very much for sharing your guideline article.
You bet and thanks for the positive feedback.
Thanks for this interesting review of Rat Race Rebellion. I hadn’t heard of them before reading this article, but have belonged to similar type platforms in the past.
Unfortunately, like Rat Race Rebellion, most of the opportunities available are for US and Canada residents, which didn’t help me too much being from Africa so it was a bit frustrating, as I didn’t make as much as I would have liked.
If you want to make a full-time income online, the best way is to develop your own brand or business the way you have done right here. Working at building up your own business is like buying property, as it won’t pay you back by next week, but over the long haul, the effort is well worth it.
Amen Michel, perfectly stated. It’s amazing what you can do with building a simple affiliate website, creating a simple brand and learning how to rank low competition keywords to bring in free traffic is not that hard. The cool thing is that you can start making money while building out your website/online business. I have seen a tremendous amount of success in this industry and so I actually created a really cool post. You can read it if you want to right here, it’s called affiliate marketing success stories.
Thanks for the wonderful feedback and have a great day,
Todd
It sounds like a pretty cool place for students in their late teens to make a little extra money for their course equipment, I can imagine these types of ‘part time jobs’ will suit them well and the money level would be okay for them.
If I was looking to make some ‘proper’ income online, which route would you suggest? My mate has mentioned marketing – what are your opinions on this and do you know any sites that cover it?
Excellent question Chris and what I recommend for most people is to either do affiliate marketing or to sell e-commerce products on Amazon. If you got the money, you can see the most success selling on Amazon but that also comes with the most risk. If you don’t have much money and don’t want to take much risk, then affiliate marketing is the way to go. With affiliate marketing, you can create a wonderful foundation for your website that can bring in steady, free, internet traffic. Later you can add in e-commerce, sell your own digital products and email marketing.
For those that want to get started with selling on e-commerce, check out this page about Drop Shipping and e-commerce.
For those who want to learn about affiliate marketing, here’s my top recommendations for affiliate marketing.
Thanks,
Todd
Hey Todd,
Very informative review about the Rat Race Rebellion. I was looking into it for quite a while actually, I wished I ended up on your website first, if I did I wouldn’t have wasted so much time.
Thanks for being so thorough! I think I also found a better option while I am here, that’s what I like about researching 🙂
I am going to try out that free training course you mentioned!
Perfect Isaac. That’s the right move. Figure out what’s the best path for you. In my opinion, it’s either affiliate marketing or e-commerce. If you go the e-commerce route, the fastest way to see success is by selling on Amazon. If you don’t have the money to invest, at the minimum 5,000 to $15,000, then affiliate marketing is the way to go. You can always expand and add in e-commerce and so forth. So affiliate marketing makes for an excellent foundation to any type of online business. Thanks for your feedback and have a great day, Todd
This is a good review, but Rat Race Rebellion is available in my country.
Great to heard that you are an affiliate marketer also, yes as an affiliate marketer we can earn passive income continuously with our content.
Once we made our content, the sales and revenue will increase on autopilot.
Proud of you, Todd.
Eden
Thanks Eden, I appreciate your feedback and I agree with you. Affiliate marketing is the much better way to go. Once you learn the basics which is really not that hard, it’s easy to bring traffic into your website and online sales. You can even create a passive income source from affiliate marketing. If you want to see some success stories, check out this recent post I did, affiliate marketing success stories.
I stumbled upon this website once but didn’t really take any job from this platform. Yes I notice that the pay rate is usually very low and mostly available for US residents only. So, I don’t really want to take any job from them. Todd, do you have experience taking a job there? Do they really pay once you have fulfilled the client’s job? While I’m not taking any job from them, I may be able to recommend this for my friend in US.
I’m not sure. I’ve never worked a job there and haven’t worked at online job for years. I prefer online business instead and so I focus on that. However, if I recall correctly you did not get paid by Rat Race Rebellion but directly through the job that you find on their site. Thanks
Good review on the rat race rebellion program. I’ve personally known about it for a while but never really took action with it because some of the work from home gigs just sounds scammy. Although I’ve come across a few rat race rebellion recommendations that do have some good reviews from others who have found work. The rat race rebellion is the free option to search for work from home gigs, just like flexjobs. However flexjobs there is a monthly membership but they do have better options and legit work from home gigs. I got my first gig from them many years ago.
Awesome Eddie, thanks for your feedback on Rat Race Rebellion. sometimes finding work online can be a blessing because it can allow you to manage your life easier by working from home. There are many benefits from working online, but I think the best way to go about it is to build a simple affiliate website that can generate you income for years to come based on the work you did one time.
Best,
Todd
I had never heard of Rat Race Rebellion. I suppose if you are looking for a way to have a job and work from home, they could provide you ideas. But, I think that if they are going to take the time to list them, that they should be good solid opportunities where you can actually start day one working from home and earning an income. So the title is a little misleading and I looked at the jobs, and really I feel I would be better off doing my own online business. Great review.
Nicely stated Matt’s Mom, I’d prefer a platform to weed through the junk, but regardless, it’s better to create an online business vs. working for an hourly wage.
Thanks!
