Authority Site System is a decent internet marketing training courses, and you can definitely learn a lot from their lessons. On the other hand, I feel it's a bit too expensive, and I would much prefer something a bit more budget-friendly. I don't completely recommend them, but you're free to take a look. Our alternative is much cheaper and has more features.

What is Authority Site System?
Authority Site System is an online training course by Authority Hacker, a small company of online marketing enthusiasts lead by Gael Breton and Mark Webster. On their website, they have a wide range of educational material on how to build a successful online business, such as blog-posts, a podcast, and their own unique training course.

Their main training course is Authority Site System, and the goal of the course is to teach beginners how to build their own profitable authority websites from ground-up by using smart strategies and white-hat search engine optimization techniques. It's the course that we're reviewing in this post.
The most important thing that you need to know about Authority Site System is that it's not a cheap course. The full course costs $997 which is quite a lot, especially for the average joe. There are payment plans, but it still comes to a lot.
Look:
Bear in mind, the course is mainly designed for beginners. You might already be familiar with 80% of the topics covered in this training material, unless you're a complete beginner.
Inside the Authority Site System Training:
As we mentioned, Authority Site System is for the average joe, someone who doesn't know much about building websites and wants to learn the fundamentals.
Having said that, it can be a decent refresher course for more experienced marketers too, especially certain modules, which we'll talk about a little later.
Here are the topics that are covered in Authority Site System:
- Niche research and site planning (17 Lessons)
- Site setup (Domains, Hosting, WordPress, Themes, etc) (14 Lessons)
- Content Creation (8 Lessons)
- Link Building (5 Lessons)
- and other topics.
In total, there are about 59 steps (or Lessons) to complete the course. They also claim the course has 120 + video lessons. The platform is very well structure, and you can easily continue the training from where you stopped.
Here's a screenshot from the WordPress section:

Certainly helpful lessons, but not the most important or exclusive information out there. You can find a lot of similar videos on YouTube or other blogging websites. We wrote about plenty too!
My Favorite Module:
Immediately, one module stood out to me. The one I liked the most is the Content Creation module. As you might already know, content creation is the foundation of your website. It's responsible for bringing in most of your traffic and sales, so it's very important to get the formula right from the start.
What I liked about this particular module is they cover a lot of great topics related to content creation, such as: content templates, content aesthetics (format, images, etc), how to integrate affiliate programs (they recommend Amazon Associates), the difference between info and commercial content, and a lot of other good advice.
While they recommend learning how to write content on your own, they also have a section on how to find writers for when you're ready to outsource.
The content templates:
- Roundup Review
- Single Review
- Info Content
- Others
While you can find information about the other topics elsewhere online, their content creation tips are more personal and tailored, so it's worth a look.
The other modules, such as creating a website with WordPress, aren't that special because you can easily find the same suggestions on other websites for free. Even most hosting companies explain the process in their support section.
Other Bonus Points:
Another small but important thing that I liked about the training is they provide you with Google Sheets and other files, such as templates. You can easily make a copy of these templates and use them for your own projects.

They have spreadsheets for keyword research and competition research, which is quite helpful. On top of that, they also have templates for articles, emails, and other forms of content.
I also liked how the course is very straightforward and there's no sales pitches or hype. In fact, they make it quite clear that your website probably won't make any money for the first few months. They don't make any crazy promises, which is something I greatly appreciated. It's a no-BS crash course on how to build an authority website.

Authority Site System Complaints:
While I do like the Authority Site System course, I have a few complaints. The most important one is they recommend using a wide variety of paid tools. The problem is not the tools, it's with the price of those tools because some of them are quite expensive, for example, AHREFS membership which starts at $99 a month.
Here are some of their recommendations:
- Hosting
- AHREFS (their recommended tool for keyword research)
- Elementor Pro
- Active Campaign
- Opt-in Monster
- Mailshake
- And several others.
Bear in mind, these aren't mandatory tools, and there are plenty of free alternatives, but the training does specifically use these tools, so you might be a bit lost without them.
While most of them aren't very expensive, the total can add up to quite a lot, especially when considering the price of the course. These tools usually require monthly subscriptions too.
I also noticed that the Authority Site System doesn't include much information about other marketing methods, such as social media, sales funnels, email, and others. I feel like for a $997 course, there should be room for these platforms, at least a few brief videos would help add more value.

Is Authority Site System a Scam?
The Authority Site System by Authority Hacker is not a scam because they provide excellent training material, offer refunds, and are quick to communicate with support requests.
While the training could be improved in certain areas, I feel like Authority Site System is a decent course for people looking to build a successful authority website. I think the creators, Gael Breton and Mark Webster are respectable marketers and not scammers.
The Bottom Line:
Overall, Authority Site System is a good training course. It covers the fundamentals of building an online business and shows you some practical strategies to take your website further. The main complaint I have with the course is the price, I think it's far too expensive. If you're on a tight budget, then Authority Site System is not the course for you.
On the other hand, it doesn't talk much about other marketing methods and you're supposed to use expensive paid tools. The total price for the course and tools comes over $1,000 with many recurring fees too (monthly subscriptions). On that note, I feel like Authority Site System could be a lot better, especially considering it's so expensive.
An alternative would be Wealthy Affiliate, it's free for 7-days, and the Premium version includes fast hosting and many other useful features. It also has a very active community and you can ask questions or chat with people any time. The kicker is Wealthy Affiliate is much cheaper than Authority Site System, it's actually free for the first 7-days.
