Cash Crate is quite similar to other products reviewed recently, but there are a few features that make it stand out.

You can make a little extra side cash for completing tasks and taking surveys online with Cash Crate but it’s not worth it in my opinion.
There are better task/survey sites out there, as well, tasks and survey sites are just not a great way to make money online.

What is Cash Crate?
Signing up to Cash Crate is free, anyone can do it, though I was a little hesitant at first (I’ll explain why later).
The company has been around for quite a long time, it gained popularity way back in 2008 and has been growing steadily.
It seems to be one of the better take-surveys-for-money sites out there. The site also loads pretty fast and there are a decent amount of offers available.
Cash Crate Downsides:
Right away, during the sign-up stage, I ran into something I didn’t like.
To make an account you have to fill in a bunch of personal information.
Cash Crate says this is to figure out where to send the payment, but there are options in there they do not need for that.
Such as your gender, ethnicity, and date of birth; why would I need to share that to get a payment? Besides, there are tons of ways to send people payments without requiring all this information.
In fact, with PayPal all you need is someone’s email address – that’s it.
So I was little disturbed by all the information Cash Crate requests, right off the bat.
There’s no way to skip this either, it’s mandatory!
If you make it through this stage you’ll see a bunch of categories for offers you can complete. The most popular category is for surveys, and that’s how most members make their cash.
Just a Little Heads Up On Survey Sites:
When completing these surveys, it’s best to use an email address you don’t want bombarded with spam.
Most surveys are from different companies and they’ll ask for your email address, so you’ll be getting emails from tons of different companies.
Use a throwaway email address, if possible.
One more point worth mentioning is the website promises a bit too much – I didn’t like the hype!
They make it sound like there’s tons of cash waiting for you inside the members area… that’s not true.
Besides that, the pay-outs are a bit lower (though still better than Koin Me) and there aren’t many offers for non-US residents.
Regarding payments, the only option to get paid is via check, which can take months to arrive, and another 60 or so days for the bank to clear it.
The minimum pay-out is $20.
At least this platform doesn’t use a point system, the real dollar value for the tasks you complete are there for you to see.
The Pros with Cash Crate:
I did notice a couple of upsides, such as the Check Gallery. In the Check Gallery area, members upload checks they received from the company, with the amount, as pay-out proof.
Of course, these pictures can be faked, but after listening to what people have to say, I think the company does promptly send checks.
Checks are only convenient for people who live in U.S.
The affiliate program is not bad either, when you refer a new person you’ll receive a percent of their total earnings as well as a flat three dollar bonus.
So you can make money with this platform, but not nearly as much as they want you to think.
There isn’t “Tons of Free Cash” inside the member’s area!
You can also sort the offers by highest pay-out first, which was a little feature I thought was cool.
Most of the surveys don’t take very long to complete, between 5-20 minutes.
Alternatives to Cash Crate?
Even though this platform is not bad, I don’t think it’s the best survey platform out there. The main one I recommend is Survey Junkie because the pay-outs are much higher than ordinary survey sites.
But even Survey Junkie is not the best way to make money online.
To be honest, there are tons of ways to make money online, but you need to find a method that works for you.
I could recommend what I love, but you might hate doing that. My suggestion is to try different things and interact with people who are on the same boat.

Do I Recommend Cash Crate?

My opinion of Cash Crate is neutral, I don’t really like it, and I don’t really hate it.
I think there are better survey sites out there, like Survey Junkie, but out of others, this one is definitely a little bit higher on the list than the ones we reviewed recently.

Hi Tim. Once in another lifetime years ago, (before joining Wealthy Affiliate) I was a member of many survey sites.
Even though, except for a few they all were legit it took me awhile to understand the one foible about trying to earn money in such a venture – you won’t as in fact it will never equate to a salary with a full-time job.
Your recommendation that a person use an alternative email address when signing to become a member of a survey site such as Cash Crate is an excellent one. Like you, I just don’t see the reason why Cash Crate would need to know some of the personal information that they seek from people who want to become members.
There is too many unsavory things going on within the Internet anyway, mostly because of the wrong people getting info that they truthfully have no business having regarding other individuals.
You didn’t mention it, but I can only assume that Cash Crate is just like any other survey site, except for one that I know of. Being a member of Cash Crate, I assume that when the individual does not match up with the intended demographic as asked for in the questions seen on a particular survey, then he/she would get disqualified from having the opportunity to complete said survey – and be rewarded.
Finally getting sick of that nonsense, it is why I ended up quitting so many survey sites as a member. With most sites, when I joined I was asked to fill out my own demographic profile. Why in the world, then was it necessary for those sites to extend survey invitations to me when it was plain as day that I would not get the chance to complete them? Instead being disqualified based on the first series of questions that I truthfully answered. Time wasted that I would never get back in my life at any point in the future! Plus, no reward as the final kick in the teeth!
My advice for anyone who chooses to become a member of any survey site that can be found online, and that includes Cash Crate would be to treat it as a way to earn some extra income every so often.
Expecting to become rich in such a venture is just plain foolish thinking on anyone’s part!

Thanks for writing such a great review on Cash Crate! I’ve used this program before and I agree with you on being neutral about it.
They definitely pay on time but I found that if you’re not a U.S resident, then it’s hard to get a lot of surveys to qualify for.
In my experience, I was able to make a little money with the program but I found that it was hard to justify the time I spent doing surveys for the amount of money I made.
I’ve always wanted to set up my own website – so I will definitely look into some of your recommendations.
