Wondering what is InstaMate, then you’ve came to the right place.
We’ll take a look at the program and you decide if it’s the right fit for your business.
One of the most popular image-based social media website is Instagram, and many marketers are using it to promote their businesses and services.
When done right, Instagram marketing can be incredibly beneficial to your business.
The only problem is most people don’t know how to market on Instagram because it’s phone-based.
In other words, to create posts, the file must be uploaded from a phone.
Of course, there are ways around this, and InsaMate is one of those ways.

What is InstaMate: The Details
InstaMate is a browser plugin that provides you with a wide range of marketing features to promote your Instagram accounts.
Normally, to create posts on Instagram, marketers would need to create images on their computers, send the image to their phone, and upload through the app.
It’s an inconvenient process that consumes a lot of time.
With InstaMate, the process is simplified.
Instead, everything can be done from your computer, and there’s no need to send any files to your phone or even use the official Instagram app.
InstaMate Features..
There are some interesting features like post scheduling and content curator.
The content curator feature is appealing because it lets you borrow content from other Instagram profiles.
One could argue that this is similar to stealing someone’s content, but actually most of the content on Instagram has already been curated multiple times.
Still, it’s best avoid using this feature on official Instagram brand accounts.
Don’t try this on images with any official logos or trademarks.
With that in mind, to use this feature all you have to do is type in a keyword, and all the accounts related to that keyword will be shown.
You’ll also be able to see the most popular posts out of the accounts.
With a click of a button, that post can be published to your Instagram profile page with the exact same hashtags and keywords.
Essentially, the image and it’s description is copied and pasted into your account.
This is a useful tool for people who have a hard time creating their own content and want to get some fast content out there.
Additionally, there are hashtag stats included as well.
You can see which hashtags are the hottest with the most views.
So this saves you a lot of time.
Of course, the content is not yours, and there’s nothing particularly unique about it.
Schedule posts:
One feature I really liked about this product is the post scheduling feature.
You can configure a post to be published at a specific time and date – down to the second.
Instead of manually publishing posts each day, let the scheduler do it for you.
InstaMate also lets you see the trending topics and accounts on Instagram, so you can find the hottest content to share.
And of course you can upload your own pictures too.
Making Money with InstaMate:
So how can you make money with InstaMate?
Instagram is an image-based social media platforms and links are not allowed in the description of the pictures.
To get around this, all you need to do is include the main link you want to promote in the bio of your account.
Then, urge people to click on your bio to find the link.
Here’s one way to use InstaMate to make cash:
- Connect your account.
- Find an affiliate product to promote.
- Write a review of that product.
- Leave review link in your Instagram bio.
- Use InstaMate to find images related to the product.
- Schedule two or three images to be published each day.
- Change the description of each image to something like, “Click the link in the bio for more info.”
- Watch the clicks come in.
That’s one strategy.
So this product does have potential.
Is Using InstaMate Against Instagram’s Rules?
One concern most people have with this product is that it breaks Instagram’s Rules.
Honestly, there’s no where in Instagram’s terms and conditions that says you can’t schedule posts, share other people’s images, or upload files from your computer.
Still, if you have a valuable Instagram account, I suggest that you avoid this program in case Instagram does crack down.
I noticed that InstaMate has the option to add unlimited Instagram accounts.
So you can create a dummy account to play around with the service.
But this tool is in a grey-area.
Warning: some users have reported that their accounts have been disabled.
If you don’t feel comfortable, don’t use this program.
If you want to try it out, use an Instagram account that you can afford to lose.
I can see how mass-use of this tool can lead to a flood of spam on Instagram, thus it’s better to not over-do it.
Instagram might crack down on people using these tools.
It’s Quality Over Quantity:
With InstaMate, the idea is to publish as many pictures as possible, taken directly from other accounts.
It doesn’t encourage you to create your own – custom – images.
So once again, it comes down to quality over quantity.
It’s much better to have quality images on your profile than thousands of random stock images.
If you’re going to use Instagram, I suggest that you use it properly and upload your own pictures, with your business logo on it.
Most people don’t want to follow Instagram accounts that only publish stock images of people giving the thumbs up with dollar signs all over.
Upload pictures from your life. It’s what people want to see.

Conclusion on InstaMate:
To conclude, InstaMate is an interesting tool but not one that I would recommend for long term use.
Though it does provide you with an easy way to find and share content on Instagram, there are risks involved.
If you have a popular Instagram account, it’s best to stay away from these programs.
Otherwise, feel free to test it out on a new account.

This was an interesting read and I can see how this tool would make Instagram easier.
I have actually stopped posting on Instagram recently because like you said-it was too time consuming to create the pic, send it to the phone, then create all the hashtags.
The funny thing is I was getting plenty of likes on the things I posted, but when I checked google analytics, pretty much none of my traffic was coming from Instagram. So I decided to stop posting because it was taking too much time.
I might consider this tool in the future, but I would be more comfortable uploading my own pics just in case. Thanks for the info.
Great points Liz, thanks for your feedback on our InstaMate Review.
I’m sure the Instagram posting tools will improve with time to come, but for now, this isn’t that bad of an option.
I guess if you’re not getting results, you’ve got to move on.
Thanks,
Todd
You made an interesting in-depth review of the product InstaMate, well done.
Also the layout of the page and website is readable and simple yet gives the reader pieces of information.
Great work and thanks for the insight about InstaMate, solid review from start till end. I think for internet marketers that are in it for the long haul should avoid these products.
Unless you use it to simply post on Instagram.
Good stuff.
Thanks Marissa,
I appreciate your feedback. At least you know what is InstaMate and that it’s not the right product for you unless only used for posting.
If you need more traffic organically, I’d encourage you a quick read to our Free eBook to Target Internet Traffic.
It’s my go to guide for each targeted post I create. The free traffic runs my entire online business so to speak 😉

Hi Todd,
I have heard of this instamate when my collegues were chatting on how you can leverage instagram to earn money.
I am really glad i ran in this post because i think that it was really simple to understand and at the same time very detailed.
After reading this, I will now share with my colleagues about its risk.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Kai
Cool Kai, thanks for your feedback and now you can see if InstaMate will work for your business.

Oh, that’s also free traffic and what I use to make full time income online

HI Todd
I appreciate the in depth information on InstaMate. I haven’t even used instagram, so this is really a great reminder for that.
My ideas are that anybody could use instamate safely if it’s used intelligently. I think that about most online techniques, really? Whitehat, blackhat, or greyhat.
Either way, thanks. I am guessing I should get hooked up with Instagram first so I’ll know what’s going on there/
Great points Mike. InstaMate could certainly be played with using a dummy account.
I just don’t have time for that. I feel my time is better spent targeting a niche audience with helpful content.
This seems to have the best affect on rankings and sales conversions.
If you need any help on how to do this using good old fashioned content, get our Free eBook on Targeting Traffic, it’s perfect for anyone who has an online business or wants to have one.
You’ll find conversions get into the 25% range when you match up a niche audiences’s needs with something that helps them.
Thanks,
Todd
Thanks for sharing your opinion on Instamate. Although I struggle with social media in general and am plain useless at Instagram, I’m not sure this is the right way to do Instagram marketing.
Having a bunch of images collected from other sites and posted as mine, I feel my readers deserve more than that.
Now you mentioned Instamate cost $57, is this a monthly or a 1-time price? As convenient and easy as it sounds, I find the prize tag to be quite hefty.
You make it sound so easy to use and make an income, but I think it will be tougher than just publishing some images in Instagram.
You did not mention if they have an affiliate program, as a marketer, a product is more interesting to me if it has an affiliate program, this way, I can use it to my advantage and at the same time, recruit people to use it and earn some money.
Great points Roamy,
InstaMate is a one time fee, not a monthly fee. So in that light it’s not a bad product for some of the features.
However, you make an excellent point that I think most marketers fail to point out.
And that is, you don’t want a bunch of random stuff on your board, that’s no way to create a brand. You need to provide quality and originality if you want to have long term success online.
It’s an interesting product, but not for me.
Thanks,
Todd
Hello Todd,
Conceptually InstaMate sounds like a wonderful product and a super work around for not having to work through the phone to post on Instagram.
As you explained the features and benefits as a plus, then went 45-90-180 degrees the other way, I was starting to really wonder where Todd was taking this review!
Anyone who is serious about building a social media account is not going to want to risk time, money and effort moving around in a grey area and have their account pulled from them down the road.
…..So I was glad to see all your disclaimers. They were very professionally written so as not to slam the the developer.
Good job and “gitty up” down the road to your next review….I’ll look for it!
Rick
Hey Rick,
You’re too funny. I’ve tamed it down drastically over the years.
Now I try to present the pros and cons and help people understand what they’re really getting into when they consider an online program.
InstaMate is an interesting product, very creative and I admire the efficiency, but white hat seo all the way for long term success.
Right?
Thanks again for your feedback on our review of InstaMate and glad you enjoyed it.
Todd
Hello,
InstaMate sounds like an interesting product. Maybe it’s gray hat seo, but I think you could still use it to post content to Instagram. So that’s cool.
But I would agree, the best way to go about creating an online business is by providing quality.
Quick question, you recommend Wealthy Affiliate and I’ve heard and read nothing but good things about them, but do you think they help more intermediate to advanced online marketers and bloggers?
Thanks for the help
-Melanin Queen
Hey Melanin,
Thanks for your feedback on InstaMate, good points as well.
Wealthy Affiliate should be a resource for every online marketer. There’s just too many benefits to their educational platform.
Honestly, it’s a program that is always being innovated. Every year, new courses, updates, and more benefits for website owners.
The weekly webinars I think are worth it alone. It’s a bit hard to keep up with them all, but you can access them after the live showings on Friday.
This past month I did two cool things to my site that I learned from the webinars.
Added SSL certification going from http to https for my sites and adding Google’s new amp plugin to have the fastest mobile sites.
Fast Sites = Better User Experience = Better Ranking and More Traffic.
Plus a bunch of other cool geeky stuff. I think you’d highly benefit from WA, regardless of whatever level your at with online business, blogging, etc.
Thanks,
Todd
InstaMate sounds pretty legit! Do you just make an account inside and it will make you a real Instagram account or do you have to first have an Instagram account and then add it to your InstaMate. Either way, I cant wait to get started using another Social Media to Promote my Online Business!
You can do it either way Kenny. Thanks for your feedback on InstaMate, just make sure you follow the suggestions laid out here in this post. Remember, it’s a bit of Gray Hat SEO.
I only recommend White Hat SEO for long term success.
