What is Mindswarms?
Mindswarms is a survey-style marketing research company where you can earn money by creating video responses to questions and surveys. The platform offers to pay up to $100 for each video response, making it one of the highest paying survey platforms out there.
There are two sides to the Mindswarms platform, one is for market researchers, and the other side is for people looking to make money by participating in studies. As you probably guessed, we'll be focusing on the income side in this Mindswarms review.
While looking at Mindswarms reviews, it seems like opinions about the company are split down the middle. Some people call it a scam, while others say it's a great way to make money online. We will do our best to filter out the truth in this Mindswarms review.
How Does Mindswarms Work?
I'll explain exactly how the platforms works in this section. What it boils down to is you have to create a video of yourself answering the questions or surveys posted on the platform, in order to qualify for earnings. The catch is the videos are meticulously reviewed, and there can only be one winner.
Here's a quick video from the creator explaining how to make good mobile response videos:
To get started, you'll need to make an account, apply for surveys, and fill in your basic information. You'll also need to download the app because that's how you'll be recording and uploading the video responses.
A couple of factors that the staff is looking for in your video responses are video quality, detailed responses, appropriate lighting and more. Much like Google when it comes to website content, Mindswarms wants the absolute best video responses, so you'll have to put quite a bit of effort into creating the videos if you want to win.
Making Money with Mindswarms:
On the subject of making money, most Mindswarms surveys only include several questions, with the maximum of ten. The more questions you answer, the more money you can potentially make.
The good news with Mindswarms is you can earn up to $50 for the 7-question surveys. The shorter ones pay around $10 each. Remember, these are questions that you'll answer in your videos.
Now, when it comes to earnings, the potential looks good. The platform says they pay $50 for each accepted video response. Payments are usually made through PayPal, although you can contact support for other payment options.
It's easy to use their app, which is on both Google Play and Apple Store. When you see a survey, hit apply, and quickly record a video using the self-camera on your phone and answer the questions as best as possible. If you're video is deemed the best, they'll send some money to your PayPal account.
On the surface, it sounds easy, and the payment looks good. I mean, most people can't wait to share their opinion with the world, so why not get some money while you're at it?
But there is a catch...
What's The Catch?
There are two: you're competing with other member's video responses, and your videos have to reviewed before you earn the income. As you can imagine, this means you won't qualify for most of the rewards, unless you're exceptionally good at making videos.
Combine that with the fact that there aren't many surveys, and you end up with an unreliable income source. What it boils down to is you doing a lot of work for a chance to earn some income.
On the other hand, if one of your videos manages to make it past their strict filtering system, you'll earn a decent amount for it. So that's what you need to know before you sign-up to Mindswarms.
We'll talk about a few other downsides later on.
Is Mindswarms a Scam?
After researching the platform and testing out their apps, I can say that Mindswarms in not a scam. The platform is legitimate and they do pay members, quite well at that.
On the other hand, it doesn't mean you'll be able to make a lot of money from them, for reasons we'll mention later on in this review. Nevertheless, if you're worried Mindswarms is a scam, it's not. The platform is actually decent.

1. High Paying Surveys:
Instead of earning a few cents like with other survey platforms, with Mindswarms you can actually make a decent amount.
Based on my Mindswarms research, it seems like most people are able to make some money with the company, and they're generally happy with the rates. It's a breath of fresh air to find a company that pays members well for completing surveys.
Another high-paying survey site that requires spoken answers is Validately!
2. Video Responses:
I think you can agree pointing a camera at your face and talking is much easier than filling out pages of information. Once you get over your camera shyness, creating video responses for the surveys is relatively easy. It's a new style of doing market research, which I thought was cool.
3. Use Their App to Easily Create Videos On-The-Go:
Unlike other survey platforms where you have to sit at a computer to answer questions, with Mindswarms you can create videos with your phone anywhere. You could be sitting in traffic, walking on the street, or at a coffee shop. Their system is quite flexible, a feature I thought was great.
4. Receive Payments within 24 Hours:
According to their app description, the company will send you the payment within 24 hours. I thought this was great because it really sucks waiting weeks to receive a small payment. I even came across survey platforms that make you wait 3 months for a single pay out.
The Cons with Mindswarms
1. Lots of Competition:
Based on the pros discussed earlier, you probably guessed a lot of people are using this platform. The amount of members far outweigh the amount of work, so you'll be lucky to come across a few good paying surveys. Most are snatched up almost as soon as they are submitted.
2. Strict Video Filtering:
I understand the need for the Mindswarms team to filter video responses, but I feel like the system is a bit too strict. It makes it difficult for the average person to have a chance to win. It seems like only the people who are extremely knowledgeable about the subject are the ones making cash.
3. Not Much Work:
Mindswarms is a decent platform but there just isn't much work. Usually only a handful of offers are published on the platform. Making money with their platform kind of comes down to luck.
I also noticed some Mindswarms complaints where people mentioned receiving an email alert for an available study, but when they click on it, the survey has already been completed. Even if you act fast, there's no guarantee you'll get the work.
The Bottom Line:
To summarize, Mindswarms is an interesting survey platform that pays well, but it's also rather strict and competitive. If you're looking to make some cash here and there, it's worth checking out. However, I don't recommend it for a reliable source of income.
Instead, if you're looking for stable and reliable income, money that comes in no matter what, I recommend learning how to build an online affiliate marketing business. It's not as difficult as you think, and the benefits are well worth it.
Now you know what is Mindswarms, now it's up to you to decide if it's worth your time or not. Got questions? Leave them below and I'll answer them as soon as I can.
