What is Prize Rebel? Can You Use It To Make Pocket Change?

December 12, 2017 by Todd

what is prize rebel scam review image

Everyone is looking for new ways to make some pocket change, and Prize Rebel is one platform that promises just that.

Tons of people have been asking me, “What is Prize Rebel?” so I decided to write this review.

Usually, survey sites turn me off, and I rarely use them.

But there are a few legitimate survey sites you can use to make some quick cash.

Let’s find out if Prize Rebel is one of them.

Prize Rebel Review

Product Name: Prize Rebel

Product Type: Paid Online Surveys

Website: www.PrizeRebel.com

Price: Free

Best For: Beginners looking to make a little extra money online. Not for those looking to make substantial money online.

Rating: 70/100

Summary: Prize Rebel is a decent survey platform. Don’t expect to make much money, less than most minimum wage jobs, but Prize Rebel is legit.

You could always check out my favorite survey site, Survey Junkie – it’s been quite good to me!

Recommended: Yes/No. Yes for fun and little extra cash. No for anyone series about making money online.

What is Prize Rebel?

Prize Rebel is an interesting platform where you can complete surveys and other small tasks for rewards.

There are a bunch of different rewards you can redeem, such as gift cards, hard-cash, bonus points, raffles, and what not.A picture showing how you can redeem Prize Rebel points.

The purpose of Prize Rebel is quite straightforward – complete surveys for cash.

I signed up and took a quick look at the platform.

Once inside you will immediately see some location targeted offers.

This was a problem for me because I’m  traveling abroad, so all the offers were in Chinese, and my Chinese is garbage.

Of course this wouldn’t be a problem for you.

There is a little slider at the top of the dashboard with different survey providers.

The one I had on default didn’t display any offers, but I chose another one, I had some offers to complete (though they were in Chinese).

I found one in English, completed it in a few minutes, and was rewarded 80 points.

Not too bad.

But it’s not all great either.

Is Prize Rebel a Scam?

No, Prize Rebel is not a scam. It’s a reliable place to take surveys. There’s been a few issues that make one to think it might be a scam (discussed below), but it’s not.

Who Is Prize Rebel For?

Prize Rebel is perfect for stay at home moms or people who are unemployed.

I heard a lot of success stories from people under 18 who managed to make some quick cash with the platform.

It tends to work well for people in English speaking countries, there aren’t so many surveys for people in other countries.

Prize Rebel Cons:

I found Prize Rebel on Reddit, and a lot of people seem to think it’s excellent. But as I did a little more digging I found it’s not actually that great.

Sure, Prize Rebel can be used to make some quick cash, but there are some downsides you should know about.

The main complaint people have regarding this platform is sometimes the points and cash are not registered.

They complete a survey or an offer and they never receive compensation.

Some people claim to have spent hours completing a survey online to be disqualified halfway through.

That sucks.

I noticed this too when playing around on the site.

Also, I didn’t like how the pages redirect so many times after you complete an offer.

I completed one offer in English, and after submitting it, I was taken to another offer, in Chinese, asking for my cell-phone number (no thanks!).

Another thing I didn’t like is you have to complete a survey and fill in a bunch of personal information just to activate your account.

The overall feel of the website is a bit confusing too!

Prize Rebel Pros:

On the other hand, there are things I liked about the platform.

For starters, there are a lot of surveys inside the United States, and most of them are fairly easy to complete.

A picture from the Prize Rebel platform showing how many points you can earn for certain tasks.

You can take a look at the screenshot above, the task you need to complete is in the middle.

For instance, for the first task on the list (Win an Arlington, Texas, Getaway) you need to sign-up to receive the reward, the type varies.

You can also see the amount of time it usually takes to receive the Points.

What Can You Do with Points?

Points are basically used to get free stuff inside the platform; this could be gifts cards, cash, and other rewards.

There are tons of different ways that you can redeem your points, and I think it’s cool to provide people with so many different ways to “Cash Out”.

Take a look at the screenshot below:

A picture from Prize Rebel platform showing rewards and gift cards.

So if you only want money – the PayPal Money option is there – 1,000 points = $10 on PayPal.

Regardless of the method you chose, it always comes to $1 for 100 points.

That’s not too bad.

What you do is complete surveys and other tasks to earn as many points as possible, and then redeem those points through one of the methods above.

Pretty cool.

I also like the progression system.

New accounts start at level 1 – and as you earn more points – you level up and qualify for more stuff.

There are also daily goals to motivate you to complete more surveys.

When you reach one of the goals you will earn a little bonus.

One more positive point worth mentioning is the owners are quite active on Reddit.

There was even a AMA Reddit thread going on a few months ago. Seems like the staff are pretty active and helpful.

Conclusion: Is Prize Rebel Worth It?

All in all, Prize Rebel is a decent platform where you can complete surveys to earn some quick pocket change.

Just keep in mind, like most survey websites, this shouldn’t be treated as a full-time business. Generally, the amount you can earn for an hour of work is quite low, much less than most minimum wage jobs.

But if you got some time to kill, it’s a nice way to make some cash.

After researching this company and trying it out, I have to say Prize Rebel is not a scam.

It’s up there with Survey Junkie – though the layout is a bit different.

Still, making an account is free and super simple, so it’s worth checking out in my opinion.

This is such an interesting post.

I’ve be spammed with many opportunities to make quick cash online by completing surveys, but this in depth review makes Prize Rebel seem legit.

I think it’s great that you offered your own perspective on it and tried it out yourself, because I’ve been scammed by a handful of platforms looking to make money from the user instead.

It’s also great that you pointed out how this isn’t something to create a full-time job out of. Many reviews for other platforms promise hundreds of dollars overnight, and there are people who do need the money so badly that they fall for the false platforms.

All in all, great review for Prize Rebel. I will definitely pass this on for friends who are looking for a platform just like this.

    Thank you for this information!

I have seen many sites offering reimbursements for surveys, but I have not yet come across Prize Rebel.

What I have found with the other sites is that it asks you the same questions over and over and over! Is this the case on Prize Rebel?

I have also found that when you go to do the survey on other sites that you are constantly re-directed to other surveys prior to even filling out the initial survey that you started. I know you had mentioned something similar to this with Prize Rebel.

It sounds as though surveys just are not the way for me to make extra cash! Do you have any other recommendations for making a little extra cash online?

      Hi Dr. Misty Baker,

That’s kind of par for the course with many of these task based sites. You can use Swagbucks or Bing Rewards to surf and make money while doing that.

Other than that, we wrote a post about this topic not too long ago about quick ways to make money online.

      Hope it helps.

Hello, I read your post today about Prize Rebel. I appreciate the fact that you gave both the positive and negative sides of the story. There are a lot of us who are relatively new to the opportunity of online income and the many possible ways to do so.

Your post helped me make the decision to hold on this specific program since the time vs. reward seems pretty low. Thanks so much for the info and you helped me greatly.

Awesome Mike, happy to help. It’s nice to have concise reviews about internet marketing products.

Prize Rebel has a niche audience, but it’s definitely not you.

I’m the same way. I’d rather plant the foundation to an online business than complete tasks.

It’s great to see the work you do reap repeat benefits through creating online content.

I have a little niche site that I put 6 pages and 1 post. I didn’t have time to keep working at it but was delighted to see affiliate Amazon commissions over the last 2 years it sat there reach over $600.00.

It’s not much, but it shows the potential, now I’m working on the site as I can.

      Sometimes that’s all it takes.

Prize Revel looks legit. I’ve tried many survey apps in the past but found a lot of times they simply stopped asking questions. With that said, they definitely helped me in times of financial needs.

I’d be interested in trying this sometime just to see if I could make an extra amount of money for groceries or something. Never hurts to try.

Thanks for sharing and hopefully I can update you when I try it!

    Best,

    Michael
