If you have been wondering what is Pure Romance about, this review is for you.
In this Pure Romance review, we'll talk about how the company works, their products, and the income-opportunity. When we are done you'll know all about Pure Romance.
Fair warning: this is a weird one!
Pure Romance is a multi-level marketing company in the adult-toy niche.
Most of the people peddling this opportunity are stay at home moms looking to make some extra cash. They'll use the standard party-hosting techniques most network marketing companies use. Another MLM that's in a more appropriate industry is Pampered Chef.
I think we can all agree there's nothing more awkward than being invited to someones house only to have them try to sell you sex toys.
Most of the time, you'll want to get out of there as quickly as possible.
Pure Romance Review Summary:
Product Name: Pure Romance

What is Pure Romance About?
To be blunt, Pure Romance is about selling sex toys for women. Instead of the usual health-supplements, this company prides itself in the adult entertainment niche.
They have a lot of products, which we won't be describing in detail. But the overall verdict of these products is - once again - they're unnecessarily expensive. Customers have also reported some quality issues, with products not working or breaking after a few days.
Pure Romance works much like other network-marketing companies. The focus is on making direct-sells and building a down-line. You're also encouraged to become a consultant of sorts, to host parties and promote the products to your friends and family members.
Ironically, no training is provided for this, so you're on your own (which is one of the issues we'll talk about later on this review).

Making Money with Pure Romance:

There are quite a few obvious issues with this company, which we'll talk about later on in this review.
First lets talk about making money with Pure Romance.
The Pure Romance compensation plan consists of 54-pages of policies and terms, enough to thoroughly confuse everyone.
But here are the basics:
To start making money with Pure Romance you need to become an active consultant. To become active, there are four options available to you:
- Purchase $200 worth of products within 60 days.
- Purchase a Bundle Kit.
- Participate in the New Consultant Inventory Advantage Program.
- Purchase a Deluxe Plus Kit.
In other words, consultants need to spend quite a bit of cash just to become active, and be able to participate in the compensation plan.
But it Gets Worse:
In order you remain active, members need to continue purchasing a minimum of $200 worth of products, every two calendar months.
The problem right here is that adult-toys are not consumable. Unlike health supplements, they don't (usually) disappear after use. But the company wants you to keep buying more and more, which is kind of ridiculous.
If you follow their plan, soon you'll have a house full of adult-toys!
But I digress. Making money with Pure Romance involves buying their products at a discount, selling at a mark-up, and building a down-line to earn team-bonuses. The the retail discount varies depending on your rank. Generally, it is between 15-50%.
Thanks to the Internet, I'm constantly getting at least 20 new leads per day without doing any cold calling, hard selling or recruiting.
I've already achieved financial independence after working 1 year in affiliate marketing by earning a 4-Figure Passive Income Online.
At the initial rank (or Recognition Title as they like to call it) the discount is set at 15% but once you become an active consultant, it increases to 30%. The maximum discount is 50% which is available for all members at Direct level and above.
Pure Romance Bonuses:
Of course Pure Romance offers the usual bonuses found in most network marketing systems. They also offer some incentives, such as paid vacations and contests.
At the moment, there are several cash bonuses:
- Override Bonus
- Retail Sales Bonus
- Superstar Bonus
Of course, for the average person with little marketing experience, building a team is a hassle. So most Pure Romance consultants make money through retail sales.
What about the positive?
Pure Romance Pros:
One of the upsides is they offer every consultant a free website, which you can use to make online sales. Since most people prefer to shop for these products online, making some sales from your site is easier than in person.
But sometimes, Pure Romance parties can be successful. There have been a few reports online from Pure Romance members who claim to make decent income from hosting parties.
The interesting thing about these parties is you don't - necessarily - have to have the product with you to make a sale. On the other hand, they also mention a few problems, which we'll discuss below.
Pure Romance Complaints:
The main issue I - and most other people - have with this company is their products are far too expensive.
1. Too Expensive:
You can find almost identical products on Amazon or any other adult store, for far cheaper, and higher quality at that.
2. Hosting Parties:
Another downside is the focus on hosting Pure Romance parties, which involve a lot of people getting together to talk about adult toys. I can see how that can be quite uncomfortable, especially if you invite your relatives. Most of the people who attend these parties say the parties are extremely uncomfortable and awkward.
But it tends to boil down to the host's marketing skills. If the host is trying to rush a sale or push people to join their team, chances are the audience won't appreciate it. You don't have to look far to find some Pure Romance horror stories.
3. Consultants Lack Education:
On that note, it seems like most Pure Romance consultants don't actually know much about their industry or the products. They're just trying to make sales as quickly as possible but lack the education. Most of the time, they'll get irritated when someone in the audience asks a question.
Grab the average stay-at-home mom and force her to host a adult-themed party in her home, to make some cash, and something awkward is bound to happen.
4. Low Profit Margins:
If you're just getting started with the company, chances are your retail discount will be locked at 15% which is a very low rate. Even if you make some sales, chances are you'll only make a few dollars in profit. Not worth the trouble, in my opinion.
Is Pure Romance a Scam?
Pure Romance is not a scam. They do have legitimate products, and they're less blatant about their compensation plan as other multi-level marketing companies.
But from what I have seen, there is a lot of work required, for few results.
Wait a Minute!
Promoting a MLM Company is NOT a good idea.
You have to organize parties, find people to attend, and all the while trying to pitch adult toys. Meaning you'll have to spend money on transportation, party supplies (alcohol, snacks, etc) and then try to force people to buy from you.
It is a lot of work.
Not a scam, but also not recommended.
What You Can Try Instead:
Instead, I recommend avoiding these companies all together. Focus on building a website and either create your own products or sell someone else's as an affiliate.
It's much easier and better long term income as well.
You don't have to host parties, and you don't have to talk about uncomfortable topics. It is much easier, less expensive, and you can - potentially - make a lot more cash.

Thanks for taking the time to read this Pure Romance review. Hopefully now you know what is Pure Romance about. Leave a comment if you have any questions.
I am a Pure Romance consultant and doing this business made me financially sound, a lot has changed and I did more online than parties like you said and I swopped the shop so purchasing my everyday products like shampoo and lotion and skin products from Pure Romance instead of the shop is what I do for my R1000 membership fee. By the way I seriously do not have a draw of toys but things have changed as educating woman about their sexual wellbeing is great. Toys (Enhancers are secondary in the business)
But different strokes for different folks hey
You always do your job well. I appreciate your dedication to work.
Thanks Muhammad!

Awesome Aznan, thanks for the feedback!
Hello Tim,
Very intriguing article.
I have never heard of Pure Romance MLM company. I must say that I agree with you though, it must prove a bit awkward to go to someone’s home to discuss ‘personal sex toys’ – a totally different mentality from a Tupperware party. Do you have any ‘hands on’ experience – meaning, do you know of anyone who has even ventured into this type of selling? And how long did they last? Did they sell much?
In the review, you talk about buying a product every 60-days – I can’t imagine putting out a budget for this expense every 60-days. And then, the idea that I ‘have to’ in order to ensure ‘good-standing’ with the company – seems a bit stressful, to say the least. I should be able to make money, not spend it, if I am starting a business.
Thanks for taking the time to research and voice your thoughts.
Michelle
I like the way your blog is telling more about the pure romance business online opportunity. Some people are afraid to join online business because they think it scam, hard to show or approve it not a real scam, and pay too much for their own business that they can’t afford.
Still they don’t receive money from what they did based on their own work, and there’s no help if your having problems.
People should not join an online business to order products, try get people join with you, and the tell all about the products and business! It not worth it to waste your money on any products, waste your time, etc.
In my experience, people are better off trying affiliate marketing because all you do is make your own website and market your own products or someone else’s products ๐
Very well stated Shenai. You’ve got a much better opportunity with affiliate marketing. It’s just straight up marketing other people’s products or create your own.
You’re not limited by team members, don’t have to recruit or do any other hard selling.
Thanks for the feedback,
Todd
Really cool review… Nice job of pointing out that Pure Romance isn’t a scam, but.. that there are other more lucrative ways to make a living working from home… Seems a lot of these direct sales companies are super legit, but have thin margins on the compensation plan…
Also, your featured/recommended program is awesome too… I’m working with them and learning so much about online business!
