What is ReceiptPal?
ReceiptPal is an app that is available for free on the Apple Store and Google Play. The way it works is very simple: you use the app use to scan paper (and digital) receipts to earn rewards. What makes ReceiptPal great is you don't have to do any work, besides scanning receipts that you already own. No taking surveys!

Every scanned receipt will reward you with a certain number of points. When you accumulate enough points, you can redeem various rewards from the gift card shop, Amazon gift cards are the most popular.
Is ReceiptPal a Scam?
ReceiptPal is not a scam because they deliver rewards on time, their service works as promised, and they don't make any crazy income claims. Everything is very straightforward. It's a legitimate way to earn extra gift cards.
But does it actually work as promised? How long does it take to earn gift cards? You can't possibly earn a living scanning receipts... can you?
What Type of Receipts Does ReceiptPal Accept?
I know some of these apps have very strict guidelines. From what I can tell, ReceiptPal is not very strict when it comes to receipts, most receipts are accepted, even if the paper is slightly damaged.
Paper Receipts:
What's cool is you can scan basically any receipt, as long as it shows the store name, date, and total amount. The information also has to be in English and U.S dollars. If you follow the basic guidelines, the receipt should be accepted, and you can earn your points.
To submit a paper receipt, open the app, tap the receipt icon, and the camera will open. Follow the on-screen instructions to line-up the camera with your receipt, take the picture, and hit submit. Make sure the image isn't blurry and the information is readable. Most receipts are reviewed within 24 hours.
e-Receipts Too!
Another good feature is ReceiptPal not only allows you to scan paper receipts but also e-receipts. The app has a list of 1,000+ online merchants, and most of the major online stores, like Amazon, are included.
Basically, if you buy something online, and the receipt is sent to your email, you can use submit that to ReceiptPal for points. That's great for online shoppers!
Note: You can use more than one receipt-scanner app. Consider combining this one with Fetch Rewards!
ReceiptPal Rewards:
The section you've been waiting for. What type of rewards can you redeem with ReceiptPal? The rewards are divided into tiers, and you unlock more tiers as you earn more points. You'll see how much progress you make towards your next reward on the left side.
How Many Points Do You Earn for Each Receipt?
Every time you scan a receipt with ReceiptPal and it's accepted, you'll earn 25 Points. When you submit 4 receipts, you complete one "Green Point Card" and earn a bonus 100 Points. Every receipt will also act as a ticket for the sweepstakes, giving you a chance to earn a $250 gift card.
There are a few other ways to earn bonus points too, such as completing the profile survey, linking your Amazon account (so it can pull recent e-receipts), weekly sweepstakes.

Here are the rewards you can redeem:
Level 1:
- $5 Amazon Gift Card 2,200 Points
- $5 Retail Gift Card
Level 2:
- $10 Amazon Gift Card
- $10 Retail Gift Card
- $25 Amazon Gift Card
Level 3:
- $50 Amazon Gift Card
- $100 Amazon Gift Card
The Retail Gift card option allows you to select from a number of stores, such as Walmart, Best Buy, ITunes, and others.
Visa e-Gift Card
Another option is a Visa e-gift card. The Visa e-Gift card is a virtual pre-loaded card. You can use it online, anywhere that Visa is accepted. It won't work in physical stores.
Most of the Visa e-gift cards are between $5 to $10 and you can store them, using an online virtual VISA account. One important point to remember is the Visa cards expire within 6 months.

How Long Does it Take to Earn a $5 Gift Card with ReceiptPal?
If you complete all the bonus activities, and complete several Green Cards, you should earn enough points to redeem a $5 Amazon gift card in a week or two.
ReceiptPal is definitely not a platform for quick rewards. I like the idea of scanning receipts for points, but it takes a pretty long time to earn enough points for a gift card.
Does ReceiptPal Pay with PayPal?
ReceiptPal does not pay members with PayPal cash. The only way to earn money with ReceiptPal is to redeem a VISA e-gift card which you can at most online stores or over the phone with a physical business.
The Bottom Line on ReceiptPal:
To summarize, ReceiptPal is legitimate app but it takes a while to earn points. It also doesn't seem to be available internationally, only in the United States. Nevertheless, they do process redemption requests, and you can easily earn some gift cards for very little effort.
I think it's a good app but not something I can 100% recommend at the moment. It simply takes too long to redeem a small gift card. It also seems like the company is a bit inactive, their social media and other platforms haven't been updated in over a year.
