What is Skooli?
Skooli is an online tutoring educational platform. Tutors can share their expertise with students and students can find a tutor to help them with a variety of subjects.
Skooli's platform has tutors on a variety of subjects such as math, languages, humanities, science, business, and specific grade levels. Tutors can use several online tools such as a white board and even file sharing to help with their classes.

Unlike other tutoring platforms, Skooli accepts tutors with experience on all kinds of subjects. If you consider yourself an expert on a specific subject, becoming a tutor for Skooli is tempting because it can be an easy way to earn some extra money.
But does it really work as promised? Is it easy to find reliable work on the platform? First, let's take a look at the requirements to see if you're a good fit...

Skooli Tutor Payment Details:
Isn't it bothersome when you spend a long time creating a profile on a platform only to discover the rates are garbage? That's why I'm writing this section. The pay rate for tutors at Skooli is not bad. The payments at Skooli are calculated based on minutes, and a full 60 minutes comes to about $25.
Grace Period:
What you need to understand is you're only paid for active call time, and the first five minutes of a new call don't count. The first five minutes is considered a grace period for the tutor and student to get to know each other.
If the call does not last for 5 minutes, you won't be paid for your time. However, if the session lasts for more than 5 minutes, you're paid for 15 minutes. For example, if you talk for 10 minutes, you're paid for 15 minutes.
Cashing Out:
To withdraw your earnings, you need to have a minimum of $100 in your balance. The payments are not automatic, you have to manually request a payment, and they only send funds to PayPal.

Getting Started with Skooli:
So you've been approved to work as a tutor on Skooli, what's next?
The way Skooli works is like an online tutor marketplace where students can select the tutor they want and start a call with them to begin the lesson. Your profile will only be visible when you toggle your availability to "On".
You're not assigned students or classes. For that reason, it's common for lots of downtime on the platform, waiting for a student to call. And that's why it's also important to make your profile as appealing and professional as possible.
Polish Your Profile & Subjects:

The first and most important step is to fill out your Skooli profile and set your subjects. Your profile needs to be polished. It needs to include all of your experience, qualifications, and any other relevant information.
Verify Your Profile
To verify your profile you will need to submit all your documentation. If approved, your profile will receive a "Verified" checkmark next to it.
Remember, there is a review system too, and your profile's reviews are public, so it's important to be professional.
My Opinion of Skooli:
I think Skooli has pretty high requirements for tutors, and the rates aren't that good. $25 an hour sounds good on paper, but it doesn't factor in all the time waiting for a call and the calls that don't last longer than five minutes.
I imagine if you factor in that time, it comes to a lot less than $25 an hour. Nevertheless, if you meet the requirements, and you have a skill to share, it's something to check out. I like how you can teach subjects other than English.
Some other tutoring platforms you can check out are Palfish, Cambly, or Whales English.
What About Building Your Own Business?
Tutoring online is one way to earn some side income, but what if you could build your own online business? You could even use your website to advertise personal tutoring sessions and charge your own rates. Learning how to build a profitable website sounds tough, and it does take time, but the process is very easy when you follow a proper plan.
My number one training center will show you how to build a profitable website from scratch. If you stick to it, you can easily build a website that brings in a four figures or more every month like clockwork. Wouldn't that be nice? The good news you can get started on the platform with a free no commitment trial. You can also read my Wealthy Affiliate review for more information.
