Came across Streetbees and wondering if it's a legitimate way to make money online? What is Streetbees exactly? Is it a scam? Or is it another platform that pays peanuts?
In this Streetbees review, we'll do our best to answer those questions (and more) so when you're done you'll have a solid understanding of what the app is all about.
Streetbees Review Summary:
Pros: Good rates. Quick payments. Interesting tasks.
The Cons: Unreliable payment approval system. Very few tasks.
The Bottom Line:
Streetbees is an okay app that's worth looking into. But it's not something I recommend for long term income because it's quite unreliable. If you're looking for a way to earn part-time, full-time or even passive income online, take a look at my recommended training program below.
What is Streetbees?
I'll admit, Streetbees is a little different than most survey platforms that claim to be data research agencies.
So what is Streetbees exactly?
Streetbees is a market research platform where users can choose to register either as survey creators (for research) or Bees, the task force. The Bees can make money by completing a wide range of tasks, mostly based around creating short videos through the apps.
Note: on the platform, the tasks are called Stories.
What's cool about this app is it uses the standard chat-style window for work. So a question will appear, and you type in the answer below, and then click submit. It kind of reminds me of chatting with a friend, which gives it a friendly and familiar feel.
The Streetbees app can be found on the Google Play and App Store, and it has a decent rating on both stores. Now let's talk about what the platform demands of it's users, and how much it compensates them for work.
How You Make Money with Streetbees?
As I mentioned, the way Streetbees works is a little bit different than the usual survey platforms. That's good news for those of you who are sick and tired of the same survey offer walls!
Here's how Steetbees works:
Once you create a free account and download the app, you can start browsing through the list of tasks.
There are plenty of tasks to choose from. Naturally, the shorter and easier, question-based tasks will not pay much. But the ones that require more effort on your part, such as creating videos, usually pay a bit better.
Note: A similar platform that offers similar tasks is Yandex Toloka.
Here's a list of some type of tasks you can complete:
- Answer questions.
- Describe a routine and take a photo.
- Record short videos.
- Write a one-three sentence answer to a question.
- And many others.
Now that you know what to expect, the next logical question is how much money can you make?
How's the Pay at Streetbees?
Look, before we get into the details, I don't want you to get your hopes up about this app.
The one thing you need to know is that there's not always work available. The amount of work is random, but the work-feed is empty more often than it's full.
Now back to payments...
I'm happy to say Streetbees does offer decent rates for their tasks. Most of the simple survey-style tasks pay $1 to $2 dollars, and they can be completed in a matter of minutes.
The photo tasks usually pay two dollars. Payments are made in the currency of your country, but you can change the default currency in your app's settings.
So, I admit, the potential is good. The only downside is what I mentioned earlier, there's not that much work. This is likely due to the fact that there are far more workers on the platform than survey creators.
Unfortunately it's a common problem for these kind of websites, and one that's difficult to solve.
How Streetbees Pays Members?
Streetbees pays their workers via PayPal or "Mobile Top Up", there's no explanation for the mobile top up option.
Luckily, most countries accept PayPal, but if your country doesn't, the best option would be to contact their support about it. At the moment, they only process payments with PayPal.
What is the Minimum Pay Out?
There's nothing more frustrating than having to spend months on a platform to reach the minimum pay out. Now one thing that's great about Streetbees is they pay instantly, as soon as you have money to withdraw.
That means as soon as you complete one task, technically, you can withdraw the money that you earned. There's no minimum pay out. Finally, a survey platform that pays quickly! Technically, you can withdraw $1 if you want, although it's recommended to wait a bit.
To clarify, the payments are made as soon as the story is approved, which can take up to 48 hours.
Now on to the pros and cons!
Here's what we liked.
1. Good Rate for Simple Tasks:
When there are tasks, the rates are good. Most of the time it's between $1 - 2 and you can complete the tasks relatively fast. If there was an unlimited supply of work, it would be a great way to make some side income.
2. Interesting Tasks!
The site was meant to be fun, and there are certainly a lot of fun tasks, or at least different than the run of the mill survey tasks. For example, they'll ask you to take a picture of an item or machine in your home, or record a video sharing your opinion about a topic, and what not.
Another platform that has lots of cool tasks is Remotasks.
3. Fast Payments:
One thing I really like about this platform is they pay almost instantly via PayPal. Currently, the money is paid after the task is approved, and the approval time is usually within 48 hours.
At the moment, they only use PayPal and mobile-top up for payments, but that might change in the future. Either way, fast PayPal payments are always nice. The money can be transferred to your account as soon as the task is marked as verified.
4. No Minimum Pay Out:
Another good thing about Streetbees is there's no minimum cash out. You can cash out at any time, as long as you have something - whether it's a few cents or a dollar. You just have to wait for the task to be approved.
The Cons with Streetbees:
Remember, I don't want to get your hopes up. There are some downsides you need to know about.
1. Unreliable Approval System:
After researching the company further and playing with their app, I noticed the approval system for tasks is kind of random.
Sometimes the story will be approved instantly and you'll see the money in your account, but other times it will be labeled approved, and no money in sight.
They also claim it takes 48 hours for a task to be approved and paid, but it seems to be sporadic. There are lots of angry reviews online that mention this issue!
2. Not Much Work on Steetbees:
It seems like it's rare to find any work in the story feed. The lack of stories may be due to location, although I can't confirm it. The platform claims to work in most countries, but it seems like users in UK have more stories to work with.
3. No Notifications When Work is Available:
You would think an app could send you a notification when something is available, but that's not the case. You have to manually open the app to check if there's any work, which can be bothersome.
Is Streetbees a Scam?
Having said that, based on my experience with the app and research, I can honestly say that Streetbees is not a scam.
It's a legitimate platform, and the pay is decent, but there's just not enough work. I mean, it's worth looking into, at the least, but don't get your hopes up. Overall, Streetbees is an okay platform. I liked the type of tasks and the quick payments.
What Are Other People Saying?
On Trust Pilot, it got a 3 out of 5 star rating and it's got a similar score on other review platforms too. It seems like most of the reviews are split between calling it a scam and an amazing platform. I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
A Much Better Alternative:
Looking for a way to make money online? Instead of relying on these kind of platforms, I recommend learning how to build your own online business.
If you're really desperate for money, take a look at this article, otherwise building a business is your best bet.
The type of business I recommend is learning how to make websites, build traffic, and make money through affiliate offers. It's one of the easier online businesses to create, and it's how most marketers earn passive income.
