What is the Best eCommerce Website Builder you ask?
When it comes to building an eCommerce business, a website should be a must, but is it?
I think most of the time the answer is yes unless you decide to sell on Amazon.
The reason I mention this is because if you’re going the eCommerce route, you might want to consider drop shipping and selling directly on Amazon.
This seems to be the best way to make a highly profitable eCommerce business in the least amount of time.
If this is the case, you don’t even need to focus on building an eCommerce website for now.

That being said, let’s review the best eCommerce website builders out there.
What is the Best eCommerce Website Builder?
If you want to find the top eCommerce site builders for nebies, then check out the list below.
Shopify:
Shopify is undisputedly the best there is for creating a successful eCommerce business.
Why is Shopify so great?
Well, it is extremely easy for newcomers to use.
The reason behind this is that it offers pre-made themes and over 100 gorgeous site templates that you can use to design your eCommerce site.
All of these templates are aesthetically very pleasing.
Having a professional and good looking website is essential to attracting new customers and retaining old ones.
A brick and mortar store has to be well lit, clean, and have a comely interior design to be successful.
The same goes for an eCommerce website.
It has to have an attractive design to be successful, and Shopify provides all the tools and templates you need to make your online shop enticing.
Here are some examples of the themes Shopify offers:
There is also a theme store from Shopify, where you can choose between a wide variety of both free and premium themes.

These applications offer…

Bigcommerce:
As the name suggests, Bigcommerce is designed for large businesses.
However, their pricing is competitive enough and their service is user friendly enough to also be used by newcomers.
One of the primary reasons why Bigcommerce is great for large businesses is because their servers are capable of withstanding large amounts of traffic.
Having reliable servers that do not shut down constantly can help clients trust in your business.
Other features of Bigcommerce are 24/7 customer support, numerous payment processors, mobile friendly sites, app extensions, etc.
While, Bigcommerce does offer quite a bit features, they are not as user friendly as Shopify. Furthermore, Shopify simply offers more for less money.
Bigcommerce also doesn’t come close to the amount of clients Shopify has.
There are over 500,000 stores powered by Shopify, while Bigcommerce only has around 100,000.
Wix:
Next up on the line is Wix.com.
Wix is also very user friendly and popular.
However, their themes are not as versatile or numerous.
Furthermore, they have far less integrated payment processors than Shopify and a more lackluster customer support service.
Wix, does have a lot going for them though.
You can create your own domain, have a mobile friendly website, and use App extensions, to name a few features.
The pricing at Wix is just about as competitive as Shopify.
Yet, Shopify simply offers more features for eCommerce, making it the superior option.
Wix does come as close second though, and it is worth checking out.
You can read our in depth review of Wix right here.
This eCommerce site building service is best for small or family businesses and it is very ease to use, making it a great pick for people new to creating and running an online business.
Probably the only thing that is unique about Wix is that you can use it for free as long as you want. However, the free version has far less features and support. The free version also, of course, does not give you a domain name.

Good luck on your road to success, now you know what is the best eCommerce website builder, the next step is to take action and start building yours.
I’ve heard of both shopify and Wix and I have to agree with your opinion on shopify being the better service to use for my ecommerce needs.
I’ve not yet decided on creating a shop or dropshipping business because I was unaware of what service to use but this has opened my eye on what do use.
I have one question, would you say that Amazon is a good platform to create a shop or dropshipping business? And would you say that it’s a better user experience when compared to shopify?
Hi Amhil,
You will find that Amazon is an amazing place to sell and works as an incredible drop-shipper. But the key thing on Amazon is to make sure you have a hot product, otherwise you’ll just be paying money for the product, importation charges, and the storage fees.
Shopify will work better for creating your own website separate of Amazon. What most e-commerce businesses do their own website to build out their own brand. Then some choose to sell on Amazon and others not.
One thing to consider with Amazon is that there can be fierce competition and then profit margins can be thin depending on the product you choose.
If you need a training program to teach you how to sell on Amazon, I would encourage either eCom Success Academy or Amazing Selling Machine (links are to the product reviews)
Both can be on the pricey side, but you’ll have a better chance of success with an eCommerce business by getting step by step directions.
Thanks,
Todd
Todd; your quest to chose the best or preferred hosting service is kind of heard.
However, all people like to know that the business they are involved in is user friendly even though they might not find the attractiveness of the templates and themes to be beneficial if they do not understand purpose.
I should think if one can increase sales for one’s business by using shopify, then Shopify should be a welcome service provider.
My question is: are you saying that templates and themes play an integral roll in ones website business? DorcasW
Hey DorcusW,
Absolutely, some themes are built to run faster and offer for functionality. This is nice because you don’t have to add features to your site via plugins.
The more plugins you have, the slower your site runs. Plus if the site runs fast and the functionality of the site is enjoyable to use, your visitors will stay on your site longer.
Faster sites with good user experiences have what’s called On-Site SEO. So it’s optimized for the user and search engines like Google reward this with improved rankings.
That will mean more free traffic and you know the rest of the story…
Increased Sales!

I’m starting an ecommerce website for my girlfriend’s handmade products, and I’m looking for a good ecommerce tool to use. One of my main concerns is shipping, and handling the shipping costs and taxes to different countries.
Do any of these ecommerce platforms offer tools to help guide you through this process? Of course, if they do it for you that’s even better!
Any information you could provide would be great,
Thanks
Hi Isaya,
This is always the issue. When I did eCommerce, I used Amazon as my drop shipper and they handled all these aspects.
Shopify allow you to set this up but I haven’t done eCommerce for over 4 years so I’m not sure.
Finding the best eCommerce website builder makes for a challenging task no question. Your post makes this a lot easier offering a real comparison between Shopify, Big Commerce, & Wix.
Out of these three.
My favorite is Shopify because it”s the most user friendly plus it offers more options for a reasonable price. The selection of themes to choose from makes any business website appealing. Not having to deal with inventory with the help of drop shipping is the way to go.
I like to find out the price comparison. What’s the monthly price range to join anyone of these?
Hey Daniel, thanks for your feedback. Shopify is clearly the best eCommerce website builder around, each one of these programs has various plans with different pricing options.
Shopify starts out at $29/mo and goes up to $179/mo. So you can see it’s best to look at your preferred eCommerce website builder and then see what they offer.
