“What is the best social media management tool?” is a question many aspiring marketers ask.
In today’s article, we’ll take a look at some of the most popular social media management tools and help you find the perfect one for your business.
Before we dive into the list, there are a few key lessons you need to know about social media.
How to Make the Most of Social Media:
Social media, like most online marketing methods, is a long-term business.
You have to commit to it.
That means you have to upload new posts and interact with your fans everyday.
If you commit to growing an account, and stick to a schedule, it won’t be long until you have a decent fan base.
Most aspiring markers are quick to assume social media is simple; share your links and that’s it.
Well, it is a little more complicated than that.
To summarize, if you want to really unlock the power of social media, its best to stick to a schedule and work on your accounts on a daily basis.
With that in mind, lets look at some of the best social media management tools.
What is The Best Social Media Management Tool?
To be honest, there are loads of apps and platforms you can use to manage your or your clients social media accounts.
It really boils down to your personal preferences – some people love certain platforms while others hate the same platforms.
What you need is a platform that has the features you want.
Which social media accounts do you need to manage?
Twitter? Facebook? Instagram? Pinterest?
Or do you want to link all your profiles to one platform?
Some tools specialize in certain social media platforms, so its important to figure out which platform you want to market on.
The Best Social Media Management Tools:
So lets take a look at some of the best social media management tools.
1. Hoot Suite:
One tool we reviewed already, Hoot Suite, is a favorite among social media managers.
With Hoot Suite you can connect basically every social media account; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
In our review, we used it to manage our Twitter account by scheduling Tweets far into the future.
The results were decent – engagement rates and follower account saw a noticeable increase.
It’s free too! But there are other tools out there.
2. Buffer:
Another favorite is called Buffer, and it is quite similar to Hoot Suite, though the user interface is a little different.
The one thing I noticed about Buffer is they take security seriously, requiring a mobile authentication as well as password.
Turns out I had an account with them before but I have no idea which phone number I used, so I had a hard time logging back in.
Contacting the support cleared the issue up real quick though.
Buffer is also free, but if you want to work with a team, its best to upgrade your account.
3. Smarter Queue:
This is a lesser-known platform but a lot of people recommend it.
Its free to try out too!
The main difference between this platform and the others is you can recycle content which makes it really easy to manage Facebook groups.
For example, if you want to post the same picture everyday telling fans to do something – this tool makes it really easy!
I also thought the drag and drop visual editor for scheduling posts was cool too.
Worth taking a look.
4. Meet Edgar:
Meet Edgar is a pretty cool social media management platform that a lot of social media marketers love.
Once thing I liked about Meet Edgar is the visual editor and the categories for scheduled posts.
It works quite well, but so far Meet Edgar only supports three social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, and Linked.
Its also free to try out.
There are more social media management platforms but these four are the most popular and should have everything that you need.
Make the Most of Social Media Management Tools?
The above tools are perfect for anyone looking to grow their social media accounts.
But to make the most of these tools you will need to use them on a daily basis.
Your social media accounts, much like your website, needs a consistent stream of content coming in.
If you don’t post often, it will be difficult to build a following and reach your online business goals.

So you’ll need to come up with content to share on social media, and have at least a few posts coming out every single day.
Content can be videos, images, plain-text messages, and curating content from someone else’s account.
It is up to you to choose what to post – but the key is to post often.
Which Social Media Profiles Should You Focus On?
Again, it comes down to your personal preferences.
In my opinion, I think everyone should have a presence on the biggest social media platforms; Twitter and Facebook.
Twitter is a little easier to manage but you won’t see a lot of traffic unless your follower count is in the thousands.
Insider Tip: Google Plus is another must, not as popular, but there’s a significant connection with Google rankings. Even to the point where a social posting can rank higher than the actual post.
Regardless, with the tools mentioned above you can drastically improve the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns.
You can also configure your accounts to fetch posts from your website, so when an article is posted on your website the link is automatically shared on your accounts.
Aweber can do this too if you use them for to manage your email marketing.
This can save you a lot of time!

I´d also recommend taking a look at Falcon.
This is great. I have been looking for something to promote my site on Facebook and Instagram.
It looks like Hootsuite may be my best choice.
Your article says it even does Twitter. I had not even thought about promoting my site there. Thank you for this insight, I really appreciate it.
I will do as you say, try Hoot Suite, and then try Buffer and Smart Queue. Who knows, I might like them better or just use one for Facebook and Twitter, and another for Instagram.
Nice Mike, that’s great to hear. Social Media can be tough to manage and having some system in place makes a big difference.
Once you find a system you like, go with it and focus on building your business and doing your thing.
Thanks so much for your kind feedback.
Thanks for the information! I’m just getting started with social media for my website and I think these tools could be very useful.
I especially like the idea of scheduling future posts. It seems that would very time efficient. I have a Facebook and Google+ account and just recently created a Twitter account so I will definitely be giving these a try.
Thanks for mentioning some examples of things you can post as well. I tend to lean towards posting links to website posts and forgetting that I can use social media for simple awareness of my business and not necessarily always driving traffic to my site.
Very helpful article.
Thanks.
James
Awesome James and thanks for the feedback. Developing your social media profiles can be a pain in the rear.
But, it’s part of the business.
Just add an extra hour of your day to develop these social media platforms and I think you’ll find it very beneficial in the years to come.

Todd

Thank you so much for this wonderful information. This gives me quite a bit of insight, as I am still new to all of this. Looks like I have some homework to do now, as some of these tools I do not know. Very clean, easy to read, and easy to follow. I totally agree with how much of a commitment it is using social media. I am guilty of having underestimating that fact myself. Thanks again.
You are not alone in this aspect. Some marketers refuse to involve social media.
Over the years, I have noticed that this does impact your sources of traffic.
And the more time you put into social media, they greater percentage of engagement your website/online business will have.
It’s a balance between content marketing, social marketing, and email marketing. The key is to dedicate a bit of time to each of these aspects on a daily basis.
Thanks
