As you probably already know, Wealthy Affiliate (WA) is one of the world's largest online business communities. Included in the membership is a free hosting service.
Wealthy Affiliate's hosting service uses a platform called Site Rubix (read our Site Rubix review here) to build and managed WordPress-based websites.
Currently, WA uses Amazon's C3 Cloud Hosting servers (Amazon c3.Large). Their hosting servers are one of the fastest in the industry, with an average page load time of 1.3 seconds, and data-centers all around the world. Major companies like Netflix use the same hosting solutions.
Most Wealthy Affiliate members choose to build and host their website with the company's services, although it's not a requirement. The great news is this service is included in the paid memberships.
Before we get into the details, let's talk money.
Is Wealthy Affiliate Hosting Worth It?
Let's face it, most modern hosting services are good. The main factor you look at when deciding which company to use is the price.
Is Wealthy Affiliate hosting expensive? Is it Wealthy Affiliate worth it?

It also would work for a small SEM organization since you can host up to 25 websites and get all their bonus features like the SSL certification. I have been using their service for over 5 years, and I only ran into a few small issues, which I'll talk about later on.
What you mainly need is a fast and stable hosting service and WordPress, that's it. Everything else is mostly bells and whistles. Your foundation will be built on the basics. In that sense, Wealthy Affiliate provides everything you need.

Before we begin, there are six modules we need to run through real quick.

It's very easy to use, and even people who have no experience with websites can easily have one up and running in minutes. Great for beginners. Not only is it easy to use, but the performance is excellent as well.
2. Free SSL Certificate:
A website's SSL Certificate is a security procedure that most websites should use, and Google has started to penalize insecure websites. Read Google's support page.
In short, you need a security certificate, not only because it improves your rank in search results, but because it provides more security for users. For example, it's a requirement for any membership website or any site that accepts online payments.

3. Daily Back Ups:
One of the most frustrating things in the world is accidentally ruining your entire website. Luckily, Wealthy Affiliate offers free daily website back-ups, so there's no need to worry about losing months worth of work.
The system takes a snapshot of your website every day, and so if you ever make a mistake, the previous version can be restored. Surprisingly, not many hosting companies offer this service, at least not on the initial plan.
4. Up to 50 Websites:
Most people will only need slots for a handful of websites, but Wealthy Affiliate's hosting can support up to 50 websites, on one account. To clarify, this is 25 domain names you own, and 25 free domain names (so they'd have a .siterubix dot com suffix name. Total: 50 websites.
You can always contact support if you need to host more than 50 websites, although most people are happy with the limit.
5. Website Health & Performance Tracking:
One of Wealthy Affiliate's hosting features I really love is how easy it is to have a quick audit of your website to see what needs to be improved.
The plugins will scan various aspects of your website, and assign them a score or a rating that you can use as a reference.

- Your Engagement
- Plugins
- Google Rank
- Site Trust

This makes it very easy to see which areas of your website need work. I can tell you that's a bonus for advanced marketers as well as for beginners. Knowing what to focus on keeps you moving forward and insures that you're making progress with your website and online business.
6. Site Manager:
Tired of logging into multiple accounts to make changes? In Wealthy Affiliate's Site Manager you can see all the details about your websites in one place.
You can also enable and disable features, monitor backups, see total post count, and SiteHealth. You can also login directly to the website from your Wealthy Affiliate dashboard.
7. Double Hosted:
If the free backup wasn't enough, Wealthy Affiliate offers another service that hosts two copies of your website at all times, in case one is damaged. If one version happens to run into issues, the mirrored version will be swapped in, and all your work will be safe.
Combine this with a daily back up and there's practically no chance of your website being lost.
All in all, more than you need to build a successful website.
8.Site Speed:
Site Speed is a feature you can toggle on and off in your website manager. You can choose between Accelerated and Extreme.
Essentially in creates a cache version of your content that significantly improves load times. Then minimizes CSS and Javascript to further decrease load times.
Wealthy Affiliate's Hosting Cons:
Although Wealthy Affiliate's hosting service includes everything you need to build a successful website, there are a few limitations you should know about.
1. Entirely WordPress Based:
As mentioned earlier, the service only offers hosting solutions for WordPress. For most people, WordPress is more than enough. Nevertheless, it's something you need to know. No other platforms are supported at the moment.
2. No Access to C-Panel:
At the moment, there's no way to access the c-panel of your website to manage files and folders. If you ever run into an issue, there's always the option of contacting support, but it would be nice to have access to the C-panel.
3. No Phone Hotline:
Most hosting companies have a phone support hotline you can call to talk to a support agent. Wealthy Affiliate only offers live-chat and email support 24/7, which tends to be a little slower.
I generally get a 5 minute to 2 hour response time turnaround from Wealthy Affiliate's Site Support, so that's fine for me.
Conclusion on WA Hosting:
To wrap up this review, I'm quite satisfied with my experience with Wealthy Affiliate's hosting service. My website has never went down randomly, backups are always in tact, and the support is quick to solve any issues.
Keep in mind, the hosting service is meant as an add-on to the platform. The main value you'll get is in the form of online business training material and courses. This question I often get from people asking about the Wealthy Affiliate hosting. They want to know what you get and how good the hosting service is. Your review explains the features very well. Bottom line is that you get a huge amount of value for the money with the Wealthy Affiliate hosting.
It is a high-quality hosting service and the support is there 24/7 for you, albeit not via a chatbot or phone call, rather through submitting a support ticket (that they react to within minutes, in my experience). Since they are always checking and making sure things are working normally, support is not required much.
The 50 website allowance you get is clear to me, but I have always wondered if there is also a space limit that you have. Do you know if there is one and if so how much you get? That would be good information to pass on as well. A good review of a great product, thanks.
For the past few days now, I have been thinking of a platform to use in hosting my website. Although I heard a friend who told me about what WA offer in terms of hosting website. But I was afraid. If I am to host my website on WA, how is my backup going to be guaranteed? I have seen a colleague who lost his 3 year old website on WA platform and was unable to to retrieve it back up till this moment. This is like a stain and it’s making me to have a rethink about moving my website down to WA.

Hi Stella, I admit, Wealthy Affiliate hosting isn’t perfect. This January when I was traveling through Mexico for a month, some of my most important links went awry and I think it was because of their hosting. Now they were able to get it fixed in a short period of time, but it’s never fun to deal with when you’re on vacation and having to find an Internet connection.
That being said I would encourage your friend to contact their support and figure out what’s going on. I use the training platform and they’re hosting for over five years now and I’ve never had to use their site back up feature. I have questioned the owner Kyle about this and he reassured me that this was the case, he said something like regardless of WA’s backup feature, it’s important to back your website for major changes like changing the theme, it’s technology so you can always have an unforeseen error that can’t be foreseen. So Wealthy Affiliate Support said it is best practice to do a full backup of the website before making any major changes.
I’d love to hear what happens to your friend if you’d like to come back and share his story. But I don’t have an answer for your question. I’m actually kind of surprised and wonder if your friend is following up with the support or if you’re getting the full story. I don’t know anybody who’s had that experience working with Wealthy Affiliate and I know hundreds of members there. Maybe bring up the question in the community and see what responses you get.

And I know you know the experience of that. I love to take classes there. But I can’t understand about the Wealthy Affiliate hosting. Is hosting helpful for Wealthy Affiliate? Can you clear my this problem?
I think the Wealthy Affiliate hosting is helpful to the members, not necessarily to Wealthy Affiliate. It’s just an added value to their platform that makes things easier for people to get started online. By having a keyword research tool, site domains available to buy there or the free hosting that comes with the membership makes it a all in one place to run your online business. At least that’s my opinion after doing online business for almost a decade. I’ve been with Wealthy Affiliate for five years and they’re definitely one of the best values out there for those that want to learn how to start and Run their own online business.
As a member, how nice is it to be able to host at the 50 websites? If you’re doing local SCO or SEM business, you can host some of your clients websites on there as an additional service for them. The reality is that the platform offers limitless potential in many ways run their own online business.

Honestly, I do learn more than four different things about wealthy Affiliate everyday since I joined last month. Though I’m not really familiar with most of the detailed information as stated on this post because I’m still lagging in experience. But I know very well that the site hosting is great especially the fact that I do not need to learn any coding before I can get my website hosted with maximum security is a great turn on for me. My website has never given me any problem since launched and hosted here.

Right off the bat, I see you mention the page load time for the WA platform – I agree – it’s lightning fast!
I would have to say that for the price I pay (far less than $49 per month since I’m on the yearly plan) just the hosting itself is worth it.
For someone like me who is technically challenged, having WA and all it’s features is great!
I didn’t know about the double hosting – does this happen automatically?
The cons are relatively minor although it would be great to have phone access for support. Do you think WA will ever have this?

I don’t see them changing to a phone service in the future. The email service works great when you get used to it and that’s how most website related services interact with customers these days. So if you’re running an online business, it’s best to get used to that type of interaction in my experience.
I’ve never had to use their double hosting feature because I’ve never had any of my websites go down since I’ve used Wealthy Affiliates hosting for over 5 years. So I’m probably the wrong person to ask but that speaks well of their service.
