Looking to find a niche idea to start a profitable online business?
Right on, let’s get down to it and get you started off on the right track. 🙂
A niche is important to any online business because it defines your online market (a.k.a. your niche audience) and income potential.
By finding a niche idea that you are really interested in, you can find a fantastic way to take you ideas, bring them to life online, and make money.
This allows you to take whatever ideas, passions or interests you have and turn them into profitable online businesses.
One that eventually can work for you – passively speaking.
I’m talking about websites that function as online business AND make a great monthly income.
Plus they have the potential to create a passive income source.
Let’s Start with a Video about Online Niche Ideas:
What’s Your Niche You Ask?
A niche can be thought of as one’s role is in their environment.
The things that we do in our daily lives to make us function.
The characteristics, passions, interests, and experiences that make us who we are.
I always like to think of a niche as a special skill set, something that we are passionate about, a natural gift or talent.
We all know someone who has a special skill that has lead them to have a successful life. Think of artists, musicians, skilled trades, hobbies, and professional careers.
You can think of these as “Niches”.
The reality is that a niche can be millions of things. And niches can have 1000’s of subtopics (or smaller sub-niches).
Why Niches are Important to Online Business?
A niche topic can turn into a business. We can base an online business on this niche and focus on the many characteristics that comprise this niche.
Let me give you an example:
Let’s take the topic of Health & Wellness. This is definitely a niche in the world, but it is way to large.
Think of all the sub-niches that can come from the topic of Health & Wellness.
For example..
- Doctors
- Therapists
- Coaches
- Nurses
- Educational Clinics
- School Teachers, etc.
Each profession could develop another 50 sub niches based on their specific skills & knowledge.
We could have Health and Wellness Concepts:
- Proper Diets
- Exercises to improve and maintain our health
- Yoga and Meditation practices to improve our well being, and so on.
We could then choose a smaller sub-niche to focus on, Managing Back Pain for example.
Have you ever had back pain?
Of course, we’ve all had back pain.
It’s a very common problem that effects our Health and Wellness.
It’s very common for people to experience back pain at some point in their life.
So we could have a whole niche website based on managing back pain that originally derived from our larger niche of Health and Wellness.
We then would have more sub-niches that revolve around our niche of Managing Back Pain.
For example:
- daily exercises to strengthen your back
- maintaining a health weight
- recommending beneficial stretches to help your back naturally realign itself
- poor posture & lifting mechanics
- causes of back pain, treatment techniques
- forms of therapy and how effective they treat back pain.
So having a good understanding of what a niche is… can really help us build a theme to our website, as well as provide us with tons of great content ideas.
Why’s this Important?
With content, we can rank in Google and other search engines quickly using low competition keywords.
Once we rank content and get traffic to our niche website, we can send that user on to helpful products that they can then purchase.
How Do You Make Money From Niche Websites:
Once you have established a website that provides users with helpful information and resources, (a.k.a. Good Content) you will establish yourself as an authority to that niche.
You then will naturally build traffic and apply marketing techniques to monetize your website.
This can be done through a number of techniques.
Here are 3 common ways to build wealth with your niche website.
1. Selling products that you endorse that are related to your niche
You could even drop-ship these products to avoid having inventory and just receive a commission for each sale completed from your referral.
2. Affiliate Marketing Programs
Placing affiliate links on your website to other websites that provide information or services related to your niche, again you would receive a commission from that referral.
3. Google AdSense Programs
Once your Niche Websites started receiving consistent daily traffic, you could put up Google Ads on your site from the Google AdSense program. When someone clicks that ad, you would earn a commission.
So hopefully you are starting to understand the importance of finding your niche and how that relates to creating a website that will eventually build you online income.

So..What’s Your Niche?
When thinking of a niche, take out a piece of paper and freely write whatever comes to your mind with the following questions.
Try to write as many ideas down as you can for each question and don’t limit your imagination here. Here goes…
Name some of your favorite things you like to do in life?
Do you have any hobbies?
What special skills do you possess?
Do You know any information that most people don’t know?
What are your favorite products that cost around $50 dollars.
Lastly, list some experiences you have from past jobs and work experiences?
Answer these questions and you will have tons of ideas for niche websites.
Then ask yourself if there are products that you can promote with these ideas. If you have a few product ideas that cost around $50 dollars, you make an entire niche website based on a single product.
There’s a ton of ideas that you can explore with niche websites:
Also, are there other services that you can promote that correlate with your niche.
If so…You have the start of a niche website that can generate you passive income.
By answering these questions honestly, you may find that you have tons of interests, skills, hobbies and experiences that can be turned into profitable niche websites.
Then take one of your ideas and see if you can imagine a website that provides beneficial information to the public.
If it does, then you have the starting theme to build an awesome website and online business.
