In this YouGov review we'll walk you through what it's like to work with YouGov and you can decide if it's right for you.

YouGov Review Summary:

Product Name: YouGov Surveys

Product Type: Survey Platform

Price: Free

Rating: 40/100

Summary: Decent survey-platform with portals in most countries. But the payments are incredibly low and U.S members can't withdraw cash, only gift-cards.

What is YouGov About?

YouGov is an opinion-collecting platform where members can earn cash for leaving their opinions on a wide variety of topics.

One interesting aspect of this website is they do have versions available in a wide range of countries, not only English-speaking countries.

Geographical locations of YouGove Survey websites

In fact, they have quite a few dedicated sites for countries in South East Asia, such as: Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, and China.

Interestingly, Canada is not supported, though U.S and U.K are.

Signing up is free, and all you need is an email address and a password. The confirmation email will send you to an introduction survey that will help the platform match you with suitable surveys. The questions are quite simple, and you can power through the initial survey in a couple of minutes.

Once you fill in your profile, it's time to start earning cash.

Earning Money with YouGov Surveys:

YouGov Surveys reward people with gift-cards or PayPal cash, which vary depending on which country you register in.

For example, if you register in Hong Kong you will be able to earn Air Asia Points or be paid in Hong Kong Dollars.

In other words, the rewards are different depending on which country you register in. Surprisingly, a PayPal cash is not available on the U.S version of the website, only gift-cards are available.

Making money with the platform is rather straightforward.

Here's how YouGov Surveys work:

  1. Sign up.
  2. Fill out initial profile survey.
  3. Add profile details.
  4. Wait for surveys.
  5. Complete surveys, earn points.
  6. Exchange points for gift-cards (or cash).

Let's talk about rates:

How much do YouGov Surveys pay? How much money can you make with YouGov? The value of each survey varies, but most offer 200-500 points for each submission. You also can earn some bonus points for filling in your profile details and their demographic surveys.

YouGov Surveys cash out methods, Amazon Cards, Regard Gift Cards, and more

Since you can't earn PayPal cash on the U.S version, we'll compare the Points to Amazon Gift Card cash. One $50 Amazon Gift Card costs 60,000 Points.

How Much Can You Earn with YouGov?

Assuming each survey rewards us with 500 Points, to earn 60,000 Points ($50) we'll have to complete 120 surveys. That's a lot of surveys. More specifically, each survey is worth $0.41 on average. That's Not much!

I'm not sure why PayPal is disabled in America, while it's allowed in Asia and Australia, but at least Americans can cash-out with more gift cards. Payment processing is supposed to take up to 31 days. Which compared to other survey platforms, that's quite a long time.

One interesting feature of this site is you can answer opinion surveys. On the other hand you won't receive any reward for completing these surveys, but if you feel you need to share your opinion with the world, this is one way to do that.

On that note, in the See Results section you can see the results of various surveys conducted on the site, targeted to your country. This is a great way to collect some interesting data on demographics.

For instance, did you know 55% of social media users would let brands sponsor their photos? Did you know Netflix is the 3rd most popular TV Network? (The most popular is Discovery Channel) Check out more YouGov Survey results here.

Let's move on to the YouGov pros and cons.

YouGov Surveys Pros:

Here's what I liked most about YouGov Suveys...

1. Available in Most Countries:

It was great to find a survey platform that caters to an international audience. Most of the time they only want English-speakers, and that can be a let down for some people.

You can also choose the language you want to complete surveys in, with most languages being supported (even Chinese and Japanese!) but the rewards in these countries are limited.

2. PayPal Withdrawal for Countries in Asia:

Most countries in Asia will allow you to withdraw earnings through PayPal, in your country's designated currency. For example, in Hong Kong you can be paid in Hong Kong dollars and so on.

3. Free Survey-Results:

You can view the survey results for free, on their website. It's a great way to collect some fun facts and see what is trending or popular. There are a lot of topics you can browse too.

Honestly, I enjoyed browsing the reports more than trying to complete surveys and earn points.

The Cons with YouGov Surveys:

Unfortunately, it's not all great. There are quite a few downsides too.

1. PayPal not Available in Some Countries:

As we mentioned earlier, the only way to withdraw funds in U.S is with gift cards. Granted, there are many types of gift cards you can redeem, but there's no option for cash-withdrawal. On that note, countries like Canada are blocked all-together, which I found quite strange.

2. Very Few Surveys:

You will become eligible for surveys depending on your country and the details you filled in on profile. The problem is there are very few surveys for certain countries.

For instance, the U.S has the most surveys, but you can't withdraw cash. Meanwhile, other countries have few to no surveys, with the option to withdraw earnings via PayPal. Regardless, users have reported a significant lack of surveys in recent months.

3. Takes a Long Time to Cash-Out (If You Can):

As we mentioned earlier, if you do have the option to cash out, it will take a long time redeem any reward. The reason for this is the surveys pay far too little. You have to earn a minimum of 5,000 points to redeem the cheapest gift-card.

In my opinion, making any significant amount of cash from this platform will take a long time. Not worth it. You could always check out other sites like Survey Junkie or Grab Points.

Is YouGov Surveys a Scam?

Now that you know what is YouGov surveys about, we'll summarize this review with our final conclusion.

YouGov Surveys, from what we can see, is not a scam survey site. They do reward users, and they do process payments, though it can take quite awhile. Unfortunately, even if everything works as they say, the pay is so low, so it's hard to justify the work.

You'll be lucky to earn a few dollars a month. It's not reliable either, as surveys can come and go in a matter of minutes. You never know if something will be available for you.

Having said that, I did like how YouGov has an international presence, and website-portals in countries all around the world. That's a definite plus in my books.

A Much Better Alternative:

Honestly, there are hundreds of these survey-platforms out there, and only a handful are actually worth your time. But even the best survey-platforms won't replace your full-time income.

If you're wondering what could replace your income, I'v got the perfect thing for you. Hit the link below to check it out. No strings attached.
